There's nothing wrong with necroing a thread to actually continue the discussion. There really ought to be more relevant necros since the same few threads keep showing up with different authors. Doing a necro just for the perceived larf isn't encouraged however.

This is a piece of history of this game and one of the best solos I've ever seen. Achire has always been the true Novaguard master.

It's not a necro, but a well deserved bump. People need to know.

I loved this solo the first time I saw it. Made me a little jealous as I was attempting it at the time. lol. I may just try it still on another map as I love the Novaguard.

You conducting yourself appropriately really doesn't help when every post after yours is "Got balls, son". Threads getting locked isn't always because of the OP.

Just stumbled upon this. Jesus, I can't even solo platinum yet (got my lone wolf banner by completing 2 regular gold solo's) - failed both times I tried so far, one time at wave 8 and the other at wave 9. So I went back to complete my remaining challenges. And this guy is doing it with a novaguard - amazing! That is without any doubt some of the best gameplay I witnessed so far. Great job, OP - it was very entertaining and fun to watch.

My main reason for not using incendiary is that the chance to trigger FEs seems significantly lower than the chance to trigger TBs. I have a theory that this is due to the FE effect chance from incendiary not scaling up with ammo power level like disruptor ammo's TB effect. Also the radius for TB is larger than FE, whereas the damage is now identical. Additionally I am not using an Acolyte, so the extra 4x damage on shields and barrier is quite helpful. Also most enemies on Cerberus/Platinum have shields.

well, since it seems no one else is going to answer the question: all combo explosions have the same base damage. Tech Bursts do double damage against shields, and fire explosions do double damage against armor. Against health and barriers they do the exact same damage. Cyonans' Combo Mechanics thread is probably the easiest to understand explanation, but Corlists' is really useful too because it has a super useful chart.
