I can't purchase points from you because your forms...even the Paypal ones won't allow me to enter my address

You need to add the following as state options:

AP
AA
etc...

So that people who recieve mail through the military postal system can sign up.

is it not possible to use for example hotmail. instead?
as it is a military adress is it not wiser to use a 3rd party adress incase of virus and so on (i am from sweden i have no idea how it works in US)

AP and AA... what's that mean exactly (curious more than anything).

Where are the others that go in the list near "etc."?

I don't remember the others :) I just know there are some.

AA = Armed Forces Atlantic

AP = Armed Forces Pacific

ArchAngel,

Pretty much every service person I know in the military maintains a credit card from their hometown. I guess if you had this as well, it would fail the IP geolocation check so you're doubly screwed.

I bet they figure something out on this front soon.  I just have a hunch.   :)

Hi there folks.

Well, I'm not sure why I'm still considered a moderator, seeing as how I haven't worked for EA since the first week of November, but I can try to shed some light here.

I'm reasonably sure that the issue for the overseas address for military address was fixed on the EA/BioWare side months ago. I would bet my life that the problem is in getting the outside 3rd party payment processors to accept and support those addresses. This requires validation across multiple fields, fraud policies updated, and even in some cases geo-location and IP checks to synch up, or in the case of military users, a hard-coded over-ride to accept mis-matched IP, and billing locations.

Before my team was laid off, we had vets in the team. These issues were brought up, believe me. But when dealing with outside parties, you don't always have the level of control you'd like. I know the Dev Director for Lockbox, which is the EA software backing points.bioware.com. He's a Navy Pilot, a solid guy, and very smart. So please understand this isn't a case of "they don't care". I know them, trust me, they care, but I'd bet my life this is just a case that this is beyond their scope of influence. It sucks, but it's the truth.

Quick idea. Amazon works with APO addresses. Maybe work with them about getting Bioware Points cards atleast?
