No, because the game was designed for one to save their levels if they wish.

Not to mention you keep the spec point even if you do continue to level up, you'll just have to wait until the level after you unlock the spec to put points into it is all.

Plus specs stay unlocked forever, so you could easily unlock it and then start on an earlier save or something simliar (buy the tome and reload -wish I'd known that trick on my first playthrough-).

But yea, I doubt you'd be thinking first time playthroughs were overrated if you didn't have to cheat on them over silly things like "builds" when there are plenty of legit things you can do to keep your "build" how you want it and not cheat. ;)

N' no, I have nothing against cheating, just cheating on a first time playthrough; I feel that cheating should be saved until after one has learned/experienced most of a game (unless one really really sucks at said game, or the game is broken hard, or you really want to lol at your friends and their 'skill', then cheating is okay).

Yep, I'm doing it for the lulz.

No, wait, I'm not, because I don't care since this is my game. How about you play your game the way you want to and I'll play the way I want? Mmmkay? And really (yes, really), I have a fairly small window in which I can just sit back and play until 3am, so let me do that without giving me grief.

The DAModder doesn't show up ingame. Unzip it on your desktop, open the folder, click "DAModder" and it will show all the mods you already have including the official DLC. Here you can uninstall them, which you can't with daupdater, and you can also search for other mods that you've downloaded and install them.

Edit: Oh, and the Character Respec 1.6 mod is grand, you can unlock any specialisation (except blood mage and reaver which are quest specific), you can reallocate all your attribute/skill/talent points (as often as you like) by drinking a potion - and you can have all your companions do the same.

Oddly, even DAModder must go through Steam somehow. I got a message during gameplay that it had finished downloading and I didn't know what it was. Went to the installed content tab and there it was! I guess it works, just have to be patient. :)

I'm seeing your excuses, but I'm not buying them.

It would of taken less time to unlock it legitly than it has for you to mess around with the stuff involved in this thread.

/check and mate.

Good God. First, this is a single-player game so my choice is my choice, right? No affect on you. Second, I was at work yesterday and replying in the forum when I could, so not much time to play. Not sure if you'll understand a practical answer like that though.

And yes, very nice job "checkmating" me on an internet forum where opinions abound. If I wanted a list of "reasons why I shouldn't use a cheat code" then that's what this thread would be called. Since you have nothing to offer as to the real reason I posted, then feel free to move along. These are not the droids you're looking for.

It's pretty pathetic that you get all riled up and try to rebound the fact that it would of been much easier for you to simply play the game legitly than cheat in the first place, then try to make it seem as though I care how you play the game. ;)

I was merely stating the facts and the options you could of taken that doesn't involve cheating, and most of these would of taken considerably less time to do than your method of cheating.

As for your "practical answer"... I'd like to point out that it would be more practical to play the game legitly after having been given solutions in the same thread you were replying too while at work that take less time to acomplish than your cheating, but I suppose you wouldn't understand that, right? ;)

Grow up imo. =]

I think it's considerably more pathetic that you keep replying saying nothing more than "cheating is teh bad" after I've found a much quicker solution. Also, you've responded four times and then you say that you don't care how I play the game? I'm not sure what the point of your tl;dr posts are then.

I think your first post stated facts, but I chose to ignore them because it didn't help. So, that's that. Have a nice day.

Because replying to someone who is replying to me means I care how they play DA:O, right? Grow up kiddy.

Because saying I have nothing against cheating in one of my previous posts means I keep replying with "cheating is teh bad", right?  Grow up kiddy.

Because having it take over a day to find and go through with your cheating solution makes it quicker than going through with the legit solutions that were given to you straight away, right? Grow up kiddy.

My point? Your attempts to save face merely continue to show what an ignorant person you are, so grow up kiddy. =]

1. Yes, and don't call me "kiddy."

2. You don't like how I choose to play and that's fine, it doesn't mean you have to keep telling me about it because I didn't ask your permission about how I play the game. And don't call me "kiddy."

3. Once I got home it didn't take long, and considerably less time than it would have with a legit solution. And don't call me "kiddy."

4. My point? This is resolved. I know what I'm doing and it's done. And it's different than how you would do it but I'm more than fine with that. I'm sure you do things that are different than I would do, but I don't care how you do things. And don't call me "kiddy."

5. The irony here is that you have contributed nothing substantial or helpful to this discussion. You keep trying to hit me over the head with your opinion and how much time you think I spent on this yesterday and yet you're the one calling me names. Makes perfect sense.

Unless other real players are affected nothing can be said against "cheating". You play for the fun at last and if you have more fun cheating, why not? Also, what Monica does is really no issue.

This said, I agree to outlaworacle, just leave it be.

Ignorance is bliss, yes?

No wonder you have to cheat over something as silly as unlocking a spec... you really have no grasp on what's being communicated to you, do you?

1: Wrong, I don't care as much as you wish I actually did care just so you could prove to your imaginary friends that someone who isn't you actually cares about you. /ohsnap? =]

2: Where did I type that I don't like how you "choose to play", can one even truely play a game that they have to cheat on from the get go on?

All I did was state on how cheating on the first play through ruins the first time game experience, and you took it as a personal insult... I assume you have reasons for being so sensative, of which I also could not care less for. ;)

3:  Yet you've spent more time on these forums waiting for an answer than it would of taken you to complete said task; it matters not how long each task takes, but how long you waited to find your answer for the apparently quicker task. -_-

4:  I don't cheat on my first play throughs, why? Because after cheating once it brings about temptation to cheat again, and I feel that cheating at particular points in games can ruin the experience of those particular moments in the games (hence my original statement of which you took such offence too).

I feel that a game as good as this should not be cheated on so early is all, in case one were to cheat again later and ruin an otherwise enjoyable moment.

Though this reasoning seems to have missed you entirely, so you continue to degrade me to being nothing more than some cheater hater.

5: I offered legit methods of keeping your build intact, I'm pretty sure that's more help than helping you cheat over something as silly as unlocking a spec that is capable of being unlocked right after lothering (aka, there is no irony here).

Btw, where do I "contiue to hit" you with my opinions? You're the one who decided to respond to them, meaning you obviously care enough about what I have to say and are taking the things I say to heart. ;)

As for the "names", I give what is deserved. =]

I have this disease that forces me to respond to others who communicate to me over the internet, I believe it's called "being e-polite" but I'm unsure. =]

I assumed the original post was created directly after the problem occured (as most do/are), and some replies were given involving similar answers to mine shortly after, I then assumed that the replys where done while at work. /shrug:wizard:

Lol, if you consider anything you posted to the OP lately to be "polite" in any form, then we had vastly different upbringings. I'm just sayin'.

Idunno, my first post was pretty polite, but I think the politeness is mostly in the responding moreso than the response. =]

Nobody enjoys being ignored after all.
