New weapons for PC and companions

Anyone else have something they would like to see?
P.S.
Please don't make companion weapons crazy weird unique things again. It's irritating finding a dagger only to realize that it's 2 inches too long to equip on any character save issabella. ect. and so on.

I kinda like the idea of a companion only using one weapon, like Varric. To me, that's entirely plausible. But they've said that companions are going to be customizable again, so I don't think your issue will be a problem. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing it just one companion.

I want more creative looking weapons, honestly. I think daggers and swords are fine as stock weapons - but they bore me. I want to see some things like in KOA:
Faeblades (equivalent thereof), Sceptres, Chakrams:
Those are fine weapons for some games but they don't really fit into the world of DA. I don't want a dark gritty world with Xena running around bouncing chakrams all over the place. Scepters are for all intensive purposes just a mace which I am keen on seeing. And Faeblades are just silly.
Though I'd love to have a little elf girl running around with a great axe, or get a dwarf in full armor swinging a flail over his head.

Scepters in KOA were more bazookas, but I agree DAverse doesn't need them.

As for types of weapons, I'd like the inclusion of polearms and the return of more than one crossbow, and I'd like them to be usable by any class as long as they meet the requirements. (Not every class would have to be able to learn the weapons' respective skill trees, though.)

I'd like the weapons (and armour too, but that's off-topic) to look like something that could be wielded effectively in the real world. IMHO a proper flammbard or a regular bearded axe looks much more deadly than some of the monstrosities often found in video games.

I can get behind polearms, but I still want to push for some large axes. And, I agree with not having more exotic weapons like the katana, chain staff, kopesh or even a kukuri.
I was thinking about what you said for weapons not being restricted by classes and that could work. I've been seing threads talk about how stats were pointless. Why not tie weapon and armor use to a stat like they did in DA:O Polearm requires X str and Y dex. ect. that would keep people from using axes on their mages and staves on their warriors while allowing for a solid weapon progression. Also if you wanted to go crazy you could be the mage running around with all your points in str. ect. with one or two minor spells that compliment your weapon fighting style. I'd be for that. Not sure why I'm ok with that but I am.

Why not give us some axes, spears, and maybe even a flail. Nothing exotic. I don't want chain staffs, or repeating crossbows.
Bianca would disagree about repeating crossbows.
DAO and DA2 had axes as well as maces. The mace in Origins was at its best against heavily armored opponents. It's debatable if the axe's somewhat higher strength attribute modifier made up for it being slower than swords and daggers, and having a lower critical chance. In DA2, I don't recall axes and maces being as common as swords or daggers. And in DA2, the axes and maces were comparable to the swords found around the same time. Still, I found myself using swords more often than not in all the DA games and DLC. I like weapon diversity, but different weapons need a viable reason to exist or to be chosen over another; e.g. halberds for their reach, flexibility, and different tactical options they could present, like keeping enemies at bay from a mage.

I recall seeing all of 1 hand axe in DAO and no Great axes of any kind. DA2 I don't recall any axes of any kind. Unless they were added in DLC which I couldn't bring myself to play DA:2 again and sold if as soon as I beat it. As far as uses and diversity each weapon in real life has a different purpose. Even swords differ from each other in terms of use. Using a repier against full plate is just silly and a claymore against a lightly armored oponent is either overkill or a waste of stamina depending on the opponent.
And Bianca can go hang out with the mongols who invented the dang thing.

Double handed axes & one handed axes.
...And don't insult Bianca. She's amazing. Gerav did fine work, too bad I had to kill him.
