Harry Harrison would love ME3 ending. As would any genius sci-fi writer.

Star Wars title is just silly adventure without any good story. Just action, action, more action, and overhyped popularity. Completely empty and useless universe.

You have no soul.

What is "the soul"?
How can you prove that it exists?

"Does that unit have a soul" is meaningless question on religious topic, which can easily provoke a 300 years long war. And we all know that history just loves to repeat itself.

Let's kick this back to more fundamentals. Do you have faith in something you cannot see and have not touched?

DNA for example. Have you actually ever seen some? You've seen representational pictures and maybe an electron microscope slide but have you ever gone searching for yourself and found some?

The people who put those pictures into text books did so for the purpose of educating others, but ultimately we take it on faith that they are correct.

Newton thought his laws of motion could explain how planets revolve around the sun. And it did. with a few wrinkles that people overlooked on faith. Then  Einstein popped up and proved Newton had made errors in his assumptions and presented a new theory that did explain how the solar system works. And now we take that on faith that he's right.

Who is to say that just because we haven't discovered something, doesn't mean it's there. The universe is full of things we haven't discovered. I simply have faith that by staying true to our need to be curious we will discover certain things that will lead on to more discoveries, and more.

It's funny though. Science seems to be catching up to religion. The Higgs Bosun was recently discovered and as well as asking what it can do, scientists are now arguing over why it can do what it does. So many theories that can not currently be proven yet camps are springing up defending these outlooks. They may seem to be operating off of logic but science is the pursuit of truth and each camp has faith that their truth is the right one.

Fortunately I have faith that we will not see a repeat of history where these divides will lead to scientists throwing lit bunsen's into lab's of the opposition with a petri of magnesium taped to the side.

If your still wondering if souls exist though? Well it's up to the individual. We can accept or reject truth and lies and the topic of having a soul is no different.

Seriously though. Why doesn't Seiv want a soul? He'd be like Voldermort living off Unicorn blood living a half life.

Does the soul exist? Here's one view on the matter

http://www.psycholog...idence-says-yes

DNA is not an entity. It's not a "spiral inside your body". It's a "rule", which describes some physiological processes. And the rule exists. As a rule of course.

Since the "soul" still doesn't describe any phisiological processes, and noone can even give the correct answer what it actually is, we can consider "soul" only as a part of corrupted ancient imagination.

I'm sorry I know I shouldn't encourage you that but that was the biggest mistake I've seen about biology since I wandered onto a creationist forum by mistake. DNA is a chemical (Deoxyribonucleic acid if you want to be picky) that encodes for proteins through the intermediatory of etc, etc, etc.

It is not a "rule" or "theory" it is a "spiral inside your body" - well double helix inside the cell nucleus but close enough.

For further information crack any biology textbook written in about the last 50 years

Of course it is. You don't have to be a scientist to know that.

Such scientific terms describe the mechanics of some particular processes, not "creating a picture of microscopical fraction".

I can feel your science teacher(s) screaming in pain from here....

DNA is not a process, a rule or any other method of describing information storage DNA is a chemical period. I suspect you want to use genetic code or something like that but honestly that isn't really an improvement.

What you are doing is equivilant to using "acid" when you mean something like the combination of "Bronsted-Lowry" and "corrosive" it doesn't work and just confuses the heck out of people.

Just like in case of Rachni for Protheans and current Galactic

Of course people will still have conflicts in the

need to preserve the old life in form of the Reapers, and give the new

Yes the militaristic dictatorship and the city state e-democracy are just so similiar --what? Did you even think before you claimed the Turian and Asari societies are very similiar.

I think one of the differences you and I have is that if you actually believe what you just wrote you really should not be allowed on the street less you decide one of the people you meet is dangerously different and must be destroyed. What you are arguing for is homogenisation or less politely ethnic cleansing. Several groups have championed it, tried it and are still trying it but historically it ain't worked too well.

And that gives you the (un)holy trifecta by adding eugenics as well. Not only does that statement fail biology on many different levels but it has a vast number of unpleasant historical links - please stop go crack a basic biology textbook and a basic history of the twentieth century because this? this makes you sound like someone who was overly fond of white sheets and burning crosses and I'm sure you didn't mean to do that.

Anyway I'm done but seriously go crack a book because some of the stuff you are saying is creepy as anything.

no writer would like the writing of me3 - it is simple, stupid, generic and the ending does not fit - in addition, it is a boring deus ex machina, with violates at least 2 of the basic rules of story writing.

each and every professional writer knows, that stuff like this has to be avoided. it does not matter who the writer is or what he is writen. pratchett, grass, marquez, tolkien, asimov - all of them would shake their heads.

Knowing that DNA is an acid gives you nothing but a word which will help you to categorise "the subject" among other things you know. DNA as an acid has no meaning, no description of how and why it works. And you don't need any meaningless subjects. "How" and "why", the description, the meaning is what make the subject valuable. So there is very strong reason to call the DNA a "rule", and very weak reason to call it an "acid"...

...Just like in case of the Reapers. It's wrong to call them "a hostile armada". They are the "rule" applied by the Catalist in order to preserve the life. To defend lesser beings from themselves.

"Democracy" doesn't exist. It's a myth. There are only different forms of "Militaristic dictatorship". Asari and Turian societies are very similar. Just like modern Russia and USA are very similar - same base principles with some minor differences...

...Krogan differ from the rest of Galactic Civilization even more than primitive African tribes differ from the USA. The same goes for the Rachni. And synthetics are even more alien.

You can't see the difference between "removing differences" and "removing people"? That's silly. Like I said, no violence needed to remove the differences. Even education will do much better than violence. And we are talking about Synthesis here, which helps to achieve so much without even single death (if we will not count Shepard and the Catalyst, who sacrificed themselves willingly) or trauma.

Evolution proved only that someone always becomes superior eventually. Do you know any really intelligent beings on Earth other than humans? I don't see any. And we are direct product of Evolution. Currently we are the apex race here, and you can't decline that. Humanity is direct proof of my assumptions about Evolution.

You know. A man once held up an apple and said. "What is this?"

"It's an apple". Said the other man.

The man with the apple looked disappointed. "That is what you call it. But what it is, is this." And with that he ate it.

The other man looked on till he finished and asked. "Can I have an apple too"? The other man gave him an apple. Before he took a bite however the other man smiled. "I am glad you also think this is an apple as well".

well we are the "apex race", because of two genetic defects.

the first is a muscle defect, who slowly moved our thumb into the position, where it is now

th second is a muscle defect, who caused our masticatory muscle degenerate - this led to our hightened skull volume, increasing brain matter.

as a chemical lab technician, i can tell you that dna is acid - in a precise, chemical way.

we are a sum of our defects.

Which only proves that "what" is just a word which helps you to categorise an object, nothing more.

Any object with a meaning (and active involvement in some events of course) can be called a "rule" for those events.

Democracy exists because we label the governance we are currently under a democracy. That word holds a certain meaning that many understand and through majority acceptance, we live under a democracy. At least the UK does. And America. And........ well call em as you see em.

Synthesis is a crime against humanity because your arguing that everybody should be synthesised with no exceptions. Let's take Joe X as an example. Joe doesn't want to be synthesised. He cannot tolerate the idea that his person would be violated to such a degree. He has heard the arguments that dismiss his deeply held conviction that synthesis is bad and heard other who say that after the affect he'll wonder why he ever resisted it. But Joe knows that he doens't like the idea now and he knows that for his belief's to be changed so dramatically and quickly is not possible because he's stubborn and knows his own mind. In the here and now Joe is being backed into a corner and his only options are dissent or conformity.

That's the viewpoint of the one person who represents many on this forum who see synthesis as a violation of mind, body and soul. Who you keep poking, then wonder why they can't see the world through your eye's. Well we've seen it and it's a hell.

While we may be the Apex race. Strip away what we have built and lock a man in a cage with a hungry lion. Not very Apex now are we. Humanity may be Apex under current circumstances but our dominance relies on maintaining favourable conditions and keeping those that would do us harm under control. Who would do us harm? Well? We lock criminals away as dangers to society so law and order may florish.

Oh, Seival.

You are being so sad now.

You've just spent the last few days gleefully advocating forced eugenics in service of eradicating racial diversity (differences that you think are as dangerous as a primed bomb).  If anyone needs to consider the meaning of their extraordinarily badly chosen words - it's you.

So please - Please stop being so ridiculous.  And please stop making me sad.
