I played drunk once. Let's just say I don't have the fortitude of Feneckus or Uh Cold, but maybe that's because I was using a precision class (SI Javelin)

Should've used the Brotarian Brosoldier Bronader build.

Gotta be a mind set. When I play I'm more laid back, I don't top score often with group I play with, but that's ok. I usually make a good contribution I think. Don't die too often for the most part, and always go for objectives unless someone beats me to it.

Being aggressive and trying to kill everything at once seems like my brain needs to be more switched on than I'd like when gaming. Every once in a while I'll flip that switch, I guess, but prefer the easier route.

I turn on my surround sound headset with my xbox playlist and can get really into the games I play.
I abuse the hell out of forward roll around corners to tweak the camera and look for blurs on the map as I run around.
If I see a blur I stop for a second and react accordingly.
I also scan areas constantly and I am always aware as to my teams location to predit spawns.
I think being good at this game revolves around how much information you can take in and what you can do with it in the least amount of time.

There are a lot of people here that I've never seen before...or maybe I have. I guess I should pay more attention to people's gamertags. The only person I remember playing with here is Uh Cold. I played with him once in a Silver match I believe...

Well that is the best way to explain it, and summerizes what I do every match, and it puts me ahead of pugs, especially when sniping.

I very rarely ever dip down into Silver games, but may be considering playing it a bit more often if alone just to have less of a stress factor like I had with 2 of my more recent Gold pick up games. So if that is your main difficulty it would be hard to come across a lot of us that pretty much only play Gold and Platinum at this point.

Yeah I guess I should step it up and play Gold and Platinum more. I just don't like that Gold is a full of boss enemies because it doesn't make much sense why the enemy would send so many of their best troops to eliminate just 4 soldiers. Platinum makes even less sense because I'm pretty sure some of the factions, like Cerberus and the Geth, don't get along.

Sir... the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Well, in platinum its more like the enemy of my enemy is my BFF. Nothing like pyros/hunters and phantoms coming at you.

Ahh yes, "Lore". We have dismissed that claim.

Yep MP tends to throw Lore out the window but I like to stick with whats left of it I suppose.

Play whatever you enjoy, there is no reason to step up and play Gold or Platinum if you don't want to play it. Especially with how bad most of the public games in Gold have been as of late (don't even want to bother with Platinum seeing as I saw a missile glitcher in both Silver and Gold over this last week and hadn't seen one in a while before). I personally don't take "lore" all that serious, I just play the game to have fun and it doesn't need to make any sense to me.

However, if these 4 soldiers were so great that they were wiping out large chunks of your army(ies), wouldn't you send as much as you possibly could to take them out? Even team up with someone you dislike to take out the greater enemy?

I've actually been wanting to play Gold more often but those randoms are vereh scareh. I play a lot more than all of my friends, in real life and on my friends list. I have over 500 hours and most of them don't even have half of that so I'm forced to play alone. At least it's good to know that there are always some good randoms.

If those 4 soldiers were such a threat then there really isn't any point in fighting anymore. All of the places in MP aren't vital enough to send such a large force to deal with them. I guess for the Reapers and Collectors that wouldn't be much of a problem but Cerberus has limited resources and most of the Geth are supposed to be fighting the Quarians on Rannoch.

I got around 130 hours of gameplay and I do platinum with pugs every now and then, otherwise gold with pugs when my friends are busy (which they mostly are) I play with ISHYGDDT who is good, and a lot of others too. As for a teammate for gold+, I had a friend who pushed me from doing bronze when I first started to doing gold in about 1 week. His name is Vanguard4 and his team is HowlingSiren and piory77. They are pc players though, but they are some of the nicest/helpful people I've met. Vanguard4 actually gave me a lot of time and patience because I kept on asking him about every little thing. He taught me how the spawn systems work and other stuff, so if he's free he'll most likely help you out and even take you on regular runs.

I never even bother to look at the names of the pugs I play with, so I have no idea if I've ever played with anyone from the BSN, let alone the PC elite, well except for Feneckus and RedJohn in the occasional Legion game.

I played with a few outstanding pros from BSN now. On a really good match I can tip into 100k (w/PUGs) but when I'm in a match with my friends from BSN I'm often the low scorer.

Now that the game is starting to give me some L4 Ammo I am actually excited to try to see if that will bring me closer to their level...

[edit] Still, they do have lots of URs maxed. I only have my rares maxed. Maybe I'll ask them to drop down to rares to make it even eh? :innocent:

One time a level ONE TGI carried our asses all the way through a gold match. After spending a lot of the match in utter disbelief, I tried the same and was the first to die on every single wave. Some people just have it.

Most elite players cannot explain things because it is innate like a sprinter's running ability or someone who is exceedingly good at maths, they just do it. Typically only people who have to work hard to get good at something can explain it because they are forced to learn techniques and learn mechanics for doing things. Basically, the very best are usually the very worst at explanation.

I don't think i've ever been outscored unless I was playing as a class that is completely not meant to score points. Closest match I had was with some guy who had around 13k Challenge points who was using a Javelin on a Quarian Male Infiltrator. I still beat him, but only by a small margin.

3 or 4 days ago, I was hosting a PUG lobby, and Ashen Earth joined (as a random).

I was using a Turian Infiltrator with a Harrier III. He was a GI with a Javelin X.

Final score:

Ashen Earth 130-140K
Me 70-80K
Random 1&2 30-40K each

2-shooting Banshees (he even got 2 Banshees with one shot), destroying mooks respawns...

On my host.... Not fair, Bioware please nerf him.

You want him nerfed b/c he was better than you? Dude if they nerf ppl b/c they are better than you and get a higher score on a scoreboard that's erased after the game ends then what's the point of nerfing? I been in game where I got highest score and everybody but me was vanguard nobody got upset. That guy had skill deal with it and enjoy for easy credits.

Nope. They usually tend to have a statistically high twitch factor, strong muscle memory, and low/average IQs and poor communication skills, freeing up all kinds of processing power to finesse physical tasks and do spatial awesomeness. The number of pro jocks with PHDs is really really low, and most pro-gamers get jobs in marketing, not design or programming. Not really an accident.

There are edge cases on both sides, but the mean is pretty stable.

I don't want to sound too indignant here, but I think most of the elite players are also very intelligent. It's not all just about reflexes and muscle memory.
