I wish to know so I can avoid wasting another 100 hour+ playthrough (Dao - Da2) picking this boon if it's never going to get any in-game acknowledgement or even a small reference in the codex.
I don't know if in DA3 there'll be someone who said that the Warden was the teyrna of Gwaren, but how it could be a retcon? Unless they specifically said that the Warden wasn't the teyrna during the time she was in Ferelden, you couldn't know if this was retconneted or not. It's not like the magi and the elf boon, which were retconnetted in DA2 (don't know how since I played DA2 once with a HN import).
Regardless, the Warden isn't in Ferelden anymore, so the King/Queen probably gave Gwaren to another noble.

Is that a thing? I've never heard of it.
If you ask for riches and a title.

retcon
You keep using that word.
I do not think it means what you think it means.

I didn't say it was a retcon, I asked if it was a retcon, since it' was established that my warden was the teyrna of gwaren at the end of Dao.Since then (expansions & Dlc included) there hasn't been so much as a codex entry regarding the choice which leads me to believe the decision is being ignored.

You could also avoid wasting your time by just not wasting it, if literally the only reason you're playing is to make a different dialog choice at the end on the off-chance that it may be recognized in the future.

Or you could duplicate an existing Warden that is saved before the boon decision and like, pick a different boon. Instead of replaying the whole game.

"Ignored" as in "not mentioend" does not mean it was retconned.

Or perhaps it's not as important to people as you want to think. "The Darkspawn are still attacking Amaranthine, but the blight is over! What's going on!? Dunno, but I hear Gwaren got a new teyrna, foxy sort too."

Actually, you can't really ignore a choice at the same time as retconning a choice.
A retcon explicitly reverses a choice that happened.
If you never mention it at all then it could still have happened, it just isn't relevant.
Lots of decisions will be "ignored" because of lots decisions aren't relevant.
Future Dragon Age games are not going to limit themselves to narratives that hop from one decision from the previous installment to another in some contrived scheme to "acknowledge" every previous choice.

If I was just playing just to make one end choice, I need not have bothered with Da2. The choice doesn't need to have game altering Impact but it is important to me from a Rp perspective.

The choice was offered, it was in-character for your Warden, and your Warden took it. Furthermore, if future games do not contradict this choice, it need not mention it at all. The RP perspective is fully satisfied by ambiguity.

I made a City Elf the Bann of the Denerim Alienage and have yet to get any acknowledgement on that.
The Teyrn boon isn't the only one not to get any acknowledgement, but at least it isn't contradicted. Many players were disappointed when they learned their precious Circle ended up rebelling by DA2 even though they won it autonomy, or something terrible happened to the Dalish when the Warden won them land, or their Warden ended up disappearing after they made up some elaborate story of how the rest of their life turned out based on the epilogue. If it isn't contradicted, then you can assume it still happened and enjoy your private headcanon about your character's life.

Only the Fereldan circle was granted autonomy. And if you choose this boon it is mentioned in DA2 in the quest where you meet King Alistair. Meredith says something about it to him when you first walk in.

You bet! They'll retcon this like they retconned when I made my Warden take the IMMEDIATE right path after entry to the Brecilian Forest instead of going along the left path! I haven't heard anything about it, so it must be a retcon.
Is this all you had to say? I'm guessing the post linked below didn't get that point across well enough for you, eh?

Blame it on your sensationalized thread title. You're clearly calling it a retcon if they don't bring it up, and now you're backpedalling since people called you on it.

So you never bothered to read farther than the title? I see...
I'm not backpedalling on anything. I made a mistake in wording, it was noted, I accept it, time to let go and move on.If you can't move on then feel free to send me your concerns in a pm and I'll be sure to address it in full at my earliest conveniece, sir.
Otherwise the thread is about having the teryn boon recognized, so lets get back to that shall we?
