I thought I read somewhere that it's possible to edit the PC through the toolset. Is this right? Like I'd be able to go in and change a hairstyle? If so, is it easy to do without messing up the OC?
Thanks.
Changing the PCs appearance?

I don't believe it's possible to change your PC's appearance realtime ( i.e. once you've generated a character and started a game ). However you can alter the available morphs you can use when you initially generate a character, then start a new game. Check out the following link for details: http://social.biowar.../8/index/176308

Thanks. That's what I was looking for.
Is there a way to use custom hair with this?
Thanks

There is a way to change who the PC is playing as, as shown in the official campaign.

If you're referring to simply switching between the various partymembers, then yes. I believe that cephasjames was actually looking to change the physical appearance of the main PC, however. There is a way to change who the PC is playing as, as shown in the official campaign.

Hey all. I have instructions from DA Nexus on how to do this (create a new character, use Toolset to swap data around etc.) but I am just wondering, does modding game files brand you as a cheater or ruin the character data uploaded to the site? Thanks

I don't know about "brand you as a cheater" but in-play modifications do get uploaded to your online profile.
I set the skin tone on a new character build yesterday and found it was still too pale in the game. I couldn't work out how to export the morph from my savegame to edit in the toolset, so I quickly created a couple of generic characters where I only changed the skin tone, saved and exited. I then copied out the morph data to two text files, did a file compare, and applied the change to my main character. It's a lot of work but it can be done (and there is also probably an easier method).

Is it possible to just open up your main and morph it?

No, unfortunately the Character Creator doesn't create the neccessary files. You can edit things such as Hairstyle/Colors/etc by editing the hex values in SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR -> SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR -> SAVEGAME_PLAYER_MORPH.

Thanks for the reply. I just made new characters until I got the look I wanted (so I would have the correct portrait) then copied the data over to my old character as detailed in the above post. Worked a treat!

I've followed the above instruction, but the SAVEGAME_PLAYER_MORPH values on all my savegames are blank. What's up with that?

How do you do this? I only wish to change my character's hairstyle and nothing more but I can't seem to find instructions on how to do that without creating an entirely new morph with the Toolset - which I'd rather not do as I don't think I could recreate my character exactly the same.

This is my goal too, but it seems we have to completely make a new head and inject that head instead of our old head. The problem is, I don't know how to reproduce my old head just right. Is there any way to export the old head or atleast figure out the numbers so I can put them in accurately?sestrensaz wrote...

Hmmm, seems strange that there is no way to alter your own head in the game, when it is entirely possible to do so for any character but the PC... is there then anyway to open up the character creation screen in game with your current character with accessible sliders to manually copy down the variables? Or to save a character as a preset perhaps then import that when in the toolset?

Ok...I think I understood, that there seems to be no way to only change my hairstyle via the toolset.
Now I try to make a complete new face, but I am facing a new problem...I cannot find a way to integrate some new hairstyles(Mods) I use into the hairstyle-selection-screen of the toolset. Only the original hairstyles appear there.
Any ideas, how its possible to integrate custom content of Mods into the toolset?
