It's thread rating, on a scale from 1 to 5. If you click a star, you rate the thread. It's a silly feature that's often more a popularity than usefulness thing. It has already been suggested that it be removed completely.n2nw wrote...
Question - what do the stars at the upper right of a topic represent? How much people like the thread? How many people are in the thread? Fat grams? Calories?forums.bioware.com/_commonext/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif[/img]
If there is, it isn't working. I half suspect the yellow documents indicating that a topic has new replies are meant to have this functionality but they don't -- not right now, anyway. That has also already been requested.flem1 wrote...
Is there a "jump to the first unread post" button I'm missing?
Well, right now you can't actually use the old system, which just parsed the message for smiley codes. The only way to use smileys right now is with the new system, which is just a direct link to the image. I explained earlier how to do this.Kyari wrote...

I usually don't do requests (as I say in my profile), I get requested...Click the right button over the message box, and you'll see something familiar...What's a BBCode and what do I do with it once I catch it? Soak it in milk till tender?
Nested quoting has been fixed, though it looks a bit weird when editing.

That's good. Agree about it looking weird, though.

I'm unable to find a list of public forum threads to which I have subscribed. There is also no list of such threads that contain new posts (like there is with group discussions). Email notifications are working fine. Is this on the todo list?Jesse van Herk wrote...

YECH! If that's the case, I hope they remove it, too. Didn't we get enough of the popularity thing in high school? I don't need to feel like my threads are inferior or unpopular...Snoteye wrote...

I don't really like the "hot topic" thingy either, for the same reason. What is the criteria for a hot topic? Views? Posts?
My documents all seem to turn white after I've visited the page. I would like it better if the ones I have not visited would stay yellow.Snoteye wrote...

Look at the top of a forum page, to the right of your portrait, to the right of the "search & go" box, there is a "Jump to" pull down with 4 options. Try those.

Post count. Not sure on the count, probably somewhere around 30 or 40. That, too, is a fairly useless feature.n2nw wrote...

I think they reset everytime you update a specific forum. Ideally they'd only reset either when you viewed a topic or you marked a forum as read (with functionality that isn't available).n2nw wrote...

Most of what I post may consititute as spam - the Old OT was spam tolerant but has built up an intollerance to it over the years.
I think that makes me akin to milk.
Anyway - Ill read the rest of the posts and see what I can do. Have fun exploring teh social site.

With regards to all the forum layout talk, I made some suggestions, but my post with fancy pictures has already dropped to page 2. Harrumph. If you like, go check the thread and give your own feedback so the devs can make us a super amazing forum.

Wonder if they'd consider outlaying the "What's New/Profile/My Content/Etc.." to the right of the Forum Pic and then the Ad to the right of that. So that all the other relevantant post commands would be unheeded by it. Egh.. I'll probably just need to get use to this.
