I'm playing through again, and I've never ended the game with a hardened Alistair. I did his quest with Goldanna, and chose all of the options I needed to choose; but I just killed Genitivi and according to the wiki, Allistair will not lose friendship points if he is hardened. He lost friendship points. Why?

Maybe it's a silly question, but did you talk to him after finishing his personal quest? If yes, if you tell him he misunderstood what you had told him after meeting Goldanna, he still won't get hardened.

I'm pretty sure I did, I was following the Approval Guide.

He generally takes at least an hour to set and a full day to cure after you add the water to the cement....

Seriously, my first thought was that you had a mod interfering, but you're playing on a console, that rules that out. The follow up conversation is critical to getting him hardened. You may want to double check your memory against the wiki entries here and here.

Can anyone confirm that the approval loss truly does not occur with hardened Alistair at that point? I have never tried killing Genitivi, so I can't say for myself. Not to doubt the awesomeness of Dragon Age Wiki, but there's always the possibility of mistake (as well as the possibility of the game simply glitching that one time). I, personally, find it strange he wouldn't disapprove of such an action, hardened or not.

Hi!

Alistair looses friendship points if he thinks something is wrong (as everyone). It does not matter if he is hardened or not.
