Savior of Ferelden from Orlais, General of Renown, Destroyer of Urthemiel the Archdemon, and the man who could solve the current Mage/Templar conflict needs to be in Dragon Age 3!

Agreed, and I want to see Queen Anora. I'm still sad she wasn't in DA2.

As much as I initially hated him, after playing DAO a few times and adding him to the party, as well as reading "The Stolen Throne," he is now one of my favorite gaming characters ever. Tough times call for tough measures. The Hero of the River Dane shall ride again and rule with an iron fist.

p.s. whenever I encounter the same voice actor in other video games (most notably in the Mass Effect games), I pretend it is Loghain for added epicness.

And I killed Alistair.

See, we can all go off-topic and mention our DAO choices.

My post was not off topic. Yours was. So's my response. Wanna keep going?

The problem is that in many of the import save files Loghain is dead. So unless Bioware retcons him like Leliana you will not see him in DA3. If he is in DA3 that would mean that the warden is dead having done the US or the DR was performed. Bioware would be making more canon with the decision to bring Loghain into DA3.

I used to always let Loghain live.  Thought it was sufficient punishment to make him serve the Wardens.

After reading the novels though... **** him.  His death is now my canon.  Wardens are better off without that psychotic batsard.

All I want from DA3 is to see Loghain riding on a griffin and commanding the grey wardens to attack

Maybe he has an illegitimate son somewhere, and from a distance, you won't be able to tell the difference.

Loghain was one of the best characters in DA:O. He was the regent you loved to hate. I made him a warden. Loghain and Morrigan are my two favorite characters in the series. Varrick runs very close behind them.

Guys...will you shut up about "unless there's a retcon" for one day? We ALL made different choices, so unless every freakin' thing is "retconned" then we won't have anything in our game! Many profiles didn't do the DR, so does that mean we are all instantly dead? No!

Come on people, if you killed him in your PT then he most likely wouldn't show up. It's that simple. It would be hard to bring a headless Loghain back, especially when so many people killed him. His part in the game would most likely be a cameo.

(Yes, I know how BioWare handled Anders's and Leliana's deaths - but we didn't get a cutscene of their heads rolling off, did we?)

Anyway. I'd love to see Loghain again, whether cameo, quest, or possible companion - whatever. Besides, Garrus could die in ME2, and they still brought him back in a full game for those gamers who didn't kill him off.

I would love to see Loghain again.

I'm not sure I want to see him in a titles role, but it would be cool to see him command a unit of wardens somewhere. I rather fancy the idea of seeing him work with a squad personally, we never saw that in the first game.

This I could get behind. It would be fascinating to see the man in his field.

But he can be alive if certain choices are made. Having a side-story where he appears would be fine, a little treat for those of us who allowed him to survive. You know, a side-story... nothing important to the main plot or the B or C plots, just a few quests. I'd be down with that. Hell it might make our past choices matter just a little at the very least. :)

The thing is even if someone's going to accuse me of grasping at straws, I can at least justify the Leliana and Zevran retcons since rogues do have an in-universe ability to feign death. It's a convenient hand-wave but one that has become part of my personal fanon, even if it's not official and likely has something to do with a bug (at least in the case of Zevran, who wasn't part of the Exiled Prince DLC for DA 2).

I'd also like to point out that words like "plot hole", "retcon", and yes, even "canon" are oft misused if their meaning is not fully understood.

TV Tropes is an invaluable resource for fanboys and girls looking to expand their understanding of terminology along with some helpful examples from different media.

Yep. Loghain lives in my world. I'd love to see him again. I wonder if my Warden is still too badass to die in 3, though? Would be funny to see an ultimate sacrifice show up to bro-fist Loghain.

I like hardening Alistair making him king with Anora, getting Loghain to join the Wardens, and then having Loghain die to defeat the archdemon.

No evil rituals and none of my friends have to be heroes for the greater good! Win win, baby!

YES YES PLEASE! I want to see Loghain again. He's a pretty decent guy, not a jerk everyone believes him to be. And he ventured off to Orlais in Awakening.

Having that kingslayer's severed head return in my game would be quite disconcerting.  Image IPB

For those who spared him however, I'd be for him returning so long as an adequate reason was given for him showing up in Orlais. At some point though Bioware has to draw the line with cameos. I wouldn't want to see every single major character we've run across at some point make a tour of Thedas, conveniently showing up in whatever location the next Dragon Age game is set.
