yea, well you know it's the same as with most new games, you see a lot of complaing on forums... but really there is only a few complaining, they ones who like the games just dont sit on forums to write about that all day they play it instead

Oh how im dying to get my hands on DAO Im gonna go to sleep early today so tomorrow comes faster I'll be playing on xbox so the easiest way to dodge interruptions is to pull off my netcable,, and well the fact that im a nerd and dont have friends makes it easier

Excellent game, very very very engaging to me. The writing is outstanding, game play fun, graphics are very nice, etc. Having a blast! I had to make myself go to sleep last night because of work, and have been talking about the game all day.



Kudos Bioware! This may be my all time favorite game to date!

I can not make this claim for any other game company out there. Bioware alone holds that title.

Im absolutely having a blast with this. As far as bugs i have not run into one, not even a hiccup. BioWare has done a amazing job with this game, and i cannot wait for more DLC and a sequel.

LOL @ the reviewers who gave it 8/10 while giving sports rehashes 9/10, they should be banned from reviewing games.

Cons:

1) Linear gameplay on rails pretty much.



2) The flow of combat is horrible thanks to the need to constantly pause the game, switch between characters and give them new orders so that their horrible built-in AI doesn't get everyone killed... even on Normal. Can't we just have a co-op RPG like this where friends control ONE person and for the times where you need an NPC for story/fluff, can't you just make their AI not suck?



3) Story, so far, seems like a pretty blatant ripoff of LoTR.



4) The game goes into "combat" and pauses, but you can't even see who is causing it to go into combat. I know, let me switch to strategic view and pan the camera... nope, still can't pan far enough to see them.





Pros:

1) Voice acting is amazing.



2) Controls and interface are a vast improvement from previous Bioware fantasy RPG titles.



3) Despite the numerous cons and reasons I should hate this game, I'm still having fun with it (10 hours in or so) and find myself eager to "just get to the next part".

I agree with OP, game is great. The complaints I've seen so far are petty for the most part. Personally, I think having to constantly pause the game during combat adds an extra level of strategy to what would otherwise be boring hack and slash. Good tactics,timing and teamwork can be the difference between glory and death. Nice Job Bioware!

I agree with OP. I love this game. Definitely BG sucessor. It runs beautifully on my 3.4 GHz P4 too. Good job Bioware. My only complaint is that I am at work and I go on call tonight - sob. Maybe my phone won't ring. I am just under 4 hours into the game and am awed by the effort that was put into the story, the characters, the beautiful graphics (I know some people don't like them but I think they are great). Thank you, thank you Bioware.



Definintely worth a 5 year wait!
