More Dragons

Sorry got a little bit ahead of myself there, but I think the point has gotten across. I don't want the dragon to got sit on a perch for 9/10ths of the fight, send its endless children after me, jump down long enough for me to peck at its ankles before rinse and repeat.
Making them more common wouldn't be the answer to better dragon battles.

Maybe make the dragon fights actually hard, not monotonous like they were in the last two titles. :I They aren't that hard. Hell, even in Skyrim the Dragon Priests killed me more often than the damn dragons. Make the fights more challenging! In DA2 is was just like hoard mode.
err...in skyrim the dragons are dangerous. When u start fighting elder dragons and the higher versions then u'll know wats up. dragon priests are nothing. I can wear elemental and magical resists to counter their magic
Skyrim dragons are not strong. My buddy and I were having a good old time one shoting dragons as they tried to fly away. He actually spent an hour looking for the corpse of a dragon that he 1 shot mid flight.
Seriously this.
Thank the Maker for Skyrim mods to make the Dragons harder.

That is one thing I really liked about Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 is that there were so few High Dragons, but there were too many lower aged dragons in Dragon Age 2.

But IMO there shouldn't be too much of them either.
One or two more elder dragons to make fire resistance master wade's gear not so pointless and weapons with damage vs dragons more useful.
And yeah, Flemeth hinted that it may be bossible to shapeshift into dragon (or shapeshift into human if you are dragon) or maybe she was just kidding Hawke. But if there will be something in DA3 about protagonist, shapeshifting and dragon I wouldn't be disappointed (rather will be happy), turning into dragon sometimes to tear some bandits would be nice (Surprise!)

More dragons would be accepted. The dragons are making a comeback right? Then how come the Warden and Hawke and fought one? ( not counting flemmeth or archdemon)
Dragons aren't making a comeback. Dragons were supposed to be extinct. At the end of the Blessed Age, two dragons apparead and made massive damage on the border between Orlais and Nevarra. There is no sign that dragons would appear in large numbers. The only thing known is that dragons weren't existed and some of them survived the hunt.
sightings after a supposed extinction sounds like a comeback to me.

So I wouldn't mind seeing more dragons , but a "friendly" dragon could be nice .
By friendly , I mean non agressive , not drinking tea with it ...Dragons are "supposed" to be more clever than your average animals , well some dragons anyway...
And I would like to feel like they 're really COMING BACK.
Most dragons we encounter were in the middle of nowhere ...
So a few burning villages would be appreciated .
Mostly , I'd like to know more lore about them , not just slay them.

Now in Dragons Dogma....these dragons were AMAZING!!! I ran into one by mistake ( I was running around exploring lol) and was OBLITERATED by it hahaha, it was AWESOME!! I came back much later after I was stronger and was able to defeat it......t'was an epic battle. Though after while I was able to take down all of them (even the UR-Dragon) without any problem lol But these dragons felt REAL.
I would love to be able to climb a dragon in DA3 struggling to stay atop as it flies in the sky. More dragons, more dragons that FEEL like dragons! I want my team to almost crap themselves whenever a dragon enters the area.

I'm all for harder fights againts elder dragons to be limited to 2-3, i want more dragons to kill wyverns, dragonlings, drakes etc for crafting armor at Wade's. i want more quests with cultists that have a dragon, preferably diffrent tipes of dragons (chinese water dragon and the younger species in an underground cave). Props to the one who came up with the ideea of a dragon atacking the castel.
But what do you mean by different types of dragons? I'd prefer it if there were only one species.

Well, according to the Silent Grove, there are some dragons that are only sleeping, waiting to be awoken.Pelle6666 wrote...
Since the dragons are supposed to be more or less extinct I don't think that would be a good idea. Maybe Flemeth could appear several times and let us fight her if we choose to, she could escape in a cut scene after she is defeated and reappear later on in the story... ?

Different types like art, visual how they look: i mentioned the chinese dragon type like a long serpent no wings, limbs i don't realy mind eather way or perhaps a twoheaded dragon (like in the movie How to tame your dragon). Something like that like diferent breads of dragons since we are going to a diffrent region i want nome new wild life, new enemies and creatures.

Lore-wise, High Dragons in Thedas are rare.
Not just rare, they were supposed to be extinct!
I don't mind having MOAR DRAGONS if they have a good story reason for where the frick they're all coming from, though. Which I suspect they do, as the books and comics and games and such reveal more info on the relationship between dragons, old gods, and whatever the heck Flemeth is up to.

I don't see Dragon Age ever featuring dragons too much, aside from the obligatory High Dragon fight and some dragonlings here and there.

This isn't Skyrim. Dozens of dragonlings and drakes plus one or two high dragons are more than enough.
You're right, it's Dragon Age. Notice how I've bolded, italicized, and underlined the word Dragon....
Your bolding, italicizing, and underlining of the word dragon doesn't make one iota of difference to why Dragon Age is named as it is.
According to a codex entry in Origins, scholars in Val Royeaux share omens of the coming era with the Chantry and the Devine, who is the only person with the authority to 'name' the next 'age'.
Apparently the current age was going to be called the 'Sun Age' after the symbol of the Chantry. But at the last minute it was called 'Dragon Age' , because, in part, of the appearance of a high dragon at the brink of the Battle of the River Dane.
Just as Tower Age didn't mean everyone built towers, and Storm Age didn't mean there was a 100 years of non-stop thunder and lightning, Dragon Age doesn't point to an over-population of Dragons.
Look it up here if you don't have a DA:O save handy: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Ages
I already read the codex entry. I was trying to make a point that you'd think there would be more Dragons in a game with the word dragon in the games title.
I don't really want 20 dragons in the game, however one high dragon a game is ridiculous. 4-5 wouldn't be that bad if they if they had interesting back stories.
Sorry if I offended, plnero. I do understand your point. I was merely trying to support my case against it.
In my opinion, it's unlikely that the storyline for DA3 could support the killing of four or five high dragons, and I would be disappointed if the plot was skewed to somehow to fit them all in (unless one of the quests in the main plot was actually hunting high dragons.) Dragons just seem to be too rare and too epic to be tossed around like cheese wheels.
In Origins, the dragon guarding the temple containing Andraste's Ashes was a great example of plot inclusion, and I enjoyed the moral dilemma of whether to kill it or not in the context of the story. (i.e. The whole 'expose the Ashes to Chantry exploitation' thing.) But the high dragon in DA:2 was, I think, a little contrived. It was just there to be killed. For cool armour.
Give me one or two huge, massively-hard-to-kill high dragons whose lives or deaths have an interesting impact on the story of Dragon Age 3. THAT would be great.
Please excuse me for being pedantic, but technically we have fought more than 3 dragons in Origins and 1 in 2. I don't mean dragonlings or drakes, but the somewhat more common Dragon as well as Dragon Thralls and, as introduced in 2, Mature Dragons (the last of which I thought was a nice bridge between a Dragon, which could live in the underground ruins of the Brecilian Forest and the much, much larger High Dragon).
So, let's be honest: we're talking about wanting more High Dragons, or variations thereof like Flemeth's High Dragon form, the Archdemon, or the Queen of the Blackmarsh, not the other varieties.
Including Mature Dragons and Dragons along with High Dragons doesn't increase the number of dragons one can fight by that much. By my counting, there are 2 mature dragons and 1 high dragon in the sequel (I forget how many dragons or dragonlings) as well as 2 dragons and 1 high dragon in Origins; I forget how many, if any, in Awakening. None of the above includes variations like the Archdemon, Thralls, Flemeth's dragon form, etc.
I prefer dragons to be a special kind of monster. Rare compared to most and usually involved in a memorable fight. I agree with Sleepdribble. The lore is that dragons were thought to have been hunted to extinction, so their reappearance, regardless of how much less "screen time" they get compared to other monsters, is significant and should feel like such. The Bone Pit dragons felt forced and a bit unremarkable, whereas "Andraste" in Origins connected with a main quest and felt truly epic to fight.

See, I would strongly dislike that. I prefer a standardized look for Dragons artistically. Maybe a unique variation as a result of some obscene experiment but I don't want variation for the sake of variation.BlackGrifon wrote...
