Prior to operation valkarye, all the weekend challenges (including bloodlust) had to be completed in the space of a single match. It was along the lines of "extract once with an N7 character" or "extract once without using consumables" or more recently "Gain a gold medal for melee kills with a krogan".
These challenges IMO were better as they were a challenge and could not just be completed by playing a lot with the right settings. They were probably more challenging than the more recent ones, infact.
The reason I am asking for this is because challenges have more recently become more time consuming (eg extract 5 times on ghost) but not more challenging. The problem with this is the people who finish the "challenge"are not the better players but those who have more time. Better players could fail to complete the challenge if they don't have time.
I am personally all for individual challenges that don't require your squad to do something but I liked the template of bloodlust: Done in 1 match but individual goal
TL;DR: Challenges should have to be completed in the space of one match so they are more about playing well than spending lots of time playing - quality over quantity
