Yep, because all the military does is kill things, right? They don't help with natural disasters, combat terrorism, or anything useful. And you know _everyone_ can get a college loan because banks are just handing money out left and right.

You can get a college loan if you join the military. Posted Image

well said!

to the douche bag who even remotely dishonored someone in miltary service. F you. nothing but utmost respect for people who put their life on the line so we can continue to enjoy life and our freedoms

Did you mean Skipper, or did you actually intend Stripper?

Oh, it's stripper.

To OP: Have you been able to purchase other DLC successfully with a military address?  I'm guessing it's not Bioware, so much as the e-commerce provider they're using, so I'm wondering if another company found a provider that can do it right.

There aren't words to describe your level of retardation.

P.S.  did college teach you to be an ultra leftwing anti military howling moonbat?

You know, I was going to be on your side and point out that you're probably not killing anyone while stationed in Japan.  But you're clearly a bit of an idiot and could use the college education so I'm going to have to agree with him.  Except for the killing part, maybe you just don't have the balls for that.

Being in military service doesn't make you a killer anymore than being a law enforcement officer does. I'm pretty left-leaning in most of my personal politics, but this is beyond ridiculous. Most military servicemen and -women have never fired a shot at a living person. You see, they have a variety of jobs -- like electrician, plumber, nurse, secretary, photographer -- wow, just like civilians!

Oh, and some people join the military to pay for college. But whatever, feel free to say whatever makes you feel better than everyone else. I guess you're entitled to do so, you evil tax payers (paying for war!).

On topic: there are several pretty irritating DLC issues right now, so I'm hoping that they add military post office info into their databases soon. I had to deal with an FPO AE address for a few years while in the Navy (oh no, I'm a killer too -- and a liberal to boot, how confusing!), bypassed it by using my wife's info. She maintained a stateside address linked to her account. Still irritating, and not ideal in any case.

Off topic again: why are political / idealogical opinions expressed on every game forum I visit? I realize it is important for some people to attack others to place themselves on a pedestal of purity and superiority, but it's not appropriate or constructive.

Lets see...which end of the political spectrum has a general disdain for the military....

Are you going to try  and tell me with a straight face that hatred of the military isn't a common theme of the American radical left?

Or just get your education on the military's dime.  Free tuition assistance, grants available, GI Bill...  all there for the willing.
Beats spending the first 10 years of your professional life fending off the debt collectors.

Exactly right.  MY tuition was paid for by the army, I became an officer when I graduated, and now I'm making a pretty good living off my pay.  Once I finish up in the army, I'll have a REALLY nice resume, and I bet it would look a lot better than that douchebag from earlier.
ArchAngel, although we're in different branches, we fight the same fight.  Keep up the good work.

Here is what you do to bypass the FPO/APO address thing for the military. I am a Navy veteran of 8 years (GO NAVY). Go to usps.com and under zipcode locator put in the FPO zipcode and it should resolve to say CA or NY and from there put your address like:

Unit XXXXXX

FPO AP, CA XXXXX

That should solve your problem :)

An innocent question about how to get points for a game overseas on a base turns into a goofy debate. People who don't think it's right to fight and start wars.. sure love to fight and start wars.

back to topic..

Would it be possible to just have a family member log in using your account and purchase points for you?

The original post is a valid criticism of Bioware's payment system not recognizing foreign military base abbreviations. Shame on Bioware - I do not mean this sarcastically.

But what's the political discussion got to do with Dragon Age or Bioware?

Who do you think protects your rights?

Hint: Not the local college professors, the doctors, the lawyers.

Ugh. Not all lefties are anti-military, ya know. Most aren't, as a matter of fact.

Thank you for your service to our country, sir.

BioWare really, REALLY needs to address this issue, or at least provide a workaround for our troops abroad.

That didn't work....however...while looking at my Paypal account I realised that I had given my parents address in NC as my alternate address...I tried that one and it took it :)

So I can now download the one piece of DLC that I don't own for the game I don't have yet :o

The reason I'm most confused about Darpaeks comment is that archangel says he works in Japan. Does Darkpaek think we're fighting a war there or something? I have a feeling it's kinda hard to go about killing people even if you're in the army when you're in a country which we're at peace with.

That's why I tried to be clear and refer to them as "the far left" and "radical left"

On a happier note, I lucked out and found a workaround.  They still need to fix the problem, the next person to hit it may not be as lucky.

Awesome, though for my gamer friends serving overseas, I hope Bioware fixes the issue.

I fight a war with the Japanese every time I drive too and from work :P
