As a quick note addressing the issue of the mattock, it has better burst DPS than the Argus only if you can fire at least 6 times per second.

If you want one for TG, collector is quite good. Matt will kill your finger on gold matches.

Striker is good too if you know what you are doing. In fact Phaeston too if you know how to aim for the head

the thing is any AR is good on him, as long as you know what you are doing. But the above is the most newb friendly

Mattock by far. I just switched to the Mattock from the Argus on my Ghost and everything died sooooo much quicker.

Argus on Turian soldier, other than that , Falcon is the best , on a Female Quarian ENg + incendiary rounds for tech explosions and staggering of mooks.

M-96 hands down is a beat compared to all weapons, but no one likes semi auto weapons.

Honestly, GPR now is awesome on Gold (aim for the head for the 3x multi).

Rapid fire mouse? works for me im no fan of RSI

Such vague questions and the answers to the question...

Mattock if you want an accurate, high damage, mid-long range, single shot rifle.
Revenant if you want an inaccurate (fixed with some kits) short-mid range bullet hose.
GPR if you want a very light, very accurate, headshot friendly caster rifle.

i use the GPR, phaeston and revenant. Mattock annoys me too much.

edited to add: new collector rifle is pretty decent too.

In order to complete the Mattock challenge, I temporarily damaged the nerves in the tip of my trigger finger (xbox360). Didn't come right for a week (finger constantly had pin and needles feeling). <_<

Mattock, Revenant or Falcon in my opinion. Mattock for headshots especially... you can headshot with a Revenant, just not half as good as you can with a Mattock.

That said, I tend to prefer the Revenant personally.

lol I just have  standard mouse... i could see the mattock being like a harrier with the right macro/mouse. But im not going to buy a mouse just for one gun

Yeah, I'd have to say the Mattock. The Collector Rifle is also good, but seems to have issues with armour.

Mattock never grew on me, but it's a good rifle, and per-bullet has a higher damage output than the others.
