Javelin, hit or miss?

I'm looking for an advice how to use Javelin. I find it very frustrating gun to use due to the firing delay. Is there a certain way I should be playing with it?
Also, your comments/reviews about the Javelin would be nice too.

In all seriousness, I use the Sala Infil for shield drain stun then headshot them!

But even if you don't you get kinda used to that after a while.

One shot a brute on gold? Yep it does that.

Lead your enemy if they are moving and practice with it. Best infiltrator sniper rifle in the game. Combine with phasic rounds (will still 1 shot most shielded mooks on gold even without the rounds) and wreck all the things.

Not anymore.

Today I tried it on TGI - it's pure awesomeness.

One bar is left from headshot.

It's the most powerful single shot sniper rifle in the game, and melts through everything, Just need to get used to how it fires.

Even with ammo/rail? I'll admit I haven't used it since the brute armor fix.

A body shot with Warp IV and all possible weapon damage bonuses was a one shot kill before the armor buff

As with all high-damage single-shot weapons, you'll only get the maximum effect out of it if you can reload cancel consistently.
A high-level Javelin (I'm fortunate enough to have it maxed) in the hands of a halfway competent user is a beast beyond compare; its only real rival for DSP output is a top-notch Claymore Infiltrator. While a good Claymore user can still deal significant damage at range, the spread will cause an unavoidable dropoff when shooting cross-map, the Javelin sacrifices no damage at any range other than knife-fight. I generally carry a sidearm for those circumstances -- if I'm using an Infiltrator and weight is not an issue, I'll go with the Talon; on a GE or other build sensitive to weight restrictions, an ULM Acolyte is a good choice.

Afaik even with those. On a more relevant note, if using the Javelin yeah you want to go for heavies, things such as brutes, ravagers and whatnot.

I was doing the sniper challenge, I actually respeced my GI for pure sniper damage, and geth weapons passive. I used hunter mode to see targets through walls, and then lined them up in the scope. In 3 gold games, I got the 200K required challenge points for the Javelin in machine mastery.

I originally preferred the BW since I disliked oneshot snipers but after using it on my Human Male Infiltrator yesterday, it's now my favorite sniper. I just wish it had more than 9 shots at level 1. :/ For how heavy it is, it should hold at least 20 shots at level 1.

On the plus side, using the new scope REPLACES the default scope which I hate to a more efficient, cleaner scope that picjs up even stealthed mooks (Phantoms / hunters) and paints them as so many corpses that don't know the are dead yet.
Still can't beat the Indra for my favorite gun but its right up there along with the Particle Rifle and Piranha.
