When i finished ME3, .........i had only one thought in my mind.........."lol wat" ?
With the EC, things got much better, but it "only" raised a terrible ending to an acceptable one.

ME3: Ending of a trilogy.
That is all.
ME2:
- unexpected twist ending that shatters our concept of the plot Not really.
- final decision has few consequences Thanks to the failure that is ME3.
- two possible endings, one of which is actually a game over Two possible endings with a great deal of variables. Also, as the second out of three games of a trilogy, can't have wildy different endings.
- ends with a blatant sequel hook Well, colour me surprised, the second part of a trilogy actually has a sequel hook. Such a new and never done before concept...
- contains a boring boss fight Define "boring".
- no implications of the ending are explained or shown Which was ME3's job, at which it horribly failed. Again.
- no memorable dialogue Mwahahaha. Oh wait, you're serious, let me laugh even harder. Bwahahahahahahahaha.
- a lot of fans didn't like it Aside from the fact that I can't recall many people who didn't like, I personally found it more than adequate.
ME3:
- unexpected twist ending that shatters our concept of the plot
- final decision has major consequences Define "major" and "consequences".
- four possible endings, one of which is actually a game over Which all look oddly enough the same, with a different voiceover and colour. Wow, such variety.
- gives a sense of closure I take it you don't know the meaning of the word "closure". I'm gonna let that slide.
- no boss fight
- various implications of the ending are shown
- some of the best dialogue and voice acting in the game If that's what you call "good" I'd hate to see what you define as "bad"
- a lot of fans don't like it

Both ME2 and ME3 had bad endings imo, only ME had a good ending in the series.
Saying one is better than the other is like saying "The **** I look yesterday is better than the one I took this morning", they're both ****, at the end of the day, so who cares?

ME2:
- unexpected twist ending that shatters our concept of the plot
In a way, I actually agree. ME2 had a terrible main story, for the most part, and whilst it was obvious that they were leading up to a big-reveal in the Collector Base, the fact that it was just this human reaper thing suspended over a pit, wasn't inspiring.
- final decision has few consequences
Because of ME3.
- two possible endings, one of which is actually a game over
Similar to ME3 then. There are four endings, but with a few different states the galaxy can be in. The second part of a trilogy, so not exactly that bad.
- ends with a blatant sequel hook
There was always going to be a sequel, so this doesn't matter. I don't see what's bad about sequel hooks either. ME2 was good, the first thing I thought of when finishing it was what the next part was going to be like.
- contains a boring boss fight
Subjective, I thought it was alright, despite the moronic context.
- no implications of the ending are explained or shown
Because of ME3.
- no memorable dialogue
I dunno about that.
- a lot of fans didn't like it
And a lot of fans did.
ME3:
- unexpected twist ending that shatters our concept of the plot
Well that's obvious.
- final decision has major consequences
That we don't see. Having consequences does not inherently make it good. Choosing Anderson over Udina has consequences, but they matter absolutely jack-sh*t.
- gives a sense of closure
Not to me.
- no boss fight
Unfortunately.
- various implications of the ending are shown
Pretty much all of them bad.
- some of the best dialogue and voice acting in the game
Shepard's speech for refuse is pretty good, but I don't remember anything else particularly memorable. It also has some of the absolute worst.
- a lot of fans don't like it
That's a given.
I'd like to see the actual reasoning behind a lot of this, as opposed to just a list of bullet-points. The implications aren't exactly clear. For example, there not being a boss fight; good or bad?

Agreed.
My heart was racing throughout the ME2 ending and at the end I had the f*ck yeah!! moment and felt victorious and wanted to replay it a million times.
Throughout the ME3 ending I felt like I had been beaten senseless by bad writing and "WTF IS GOING ON" moments and had no motivation whatsoever to replay the game.

ME3 nonsense plotwist, generic endgame minus bossfight, your squadmates desert you no matter what.
Its all a matter of context.

The laugh is on him because that troll comment (although no doubt true) was more of an inside joke between me and the OP.

I played it back in March, there was nothing major, the choice in ME2 gave me more impact.
- four possible endings, one of which is actually a game over
Three endings that are all the same, except for the game over one(Which is a possible ending in ME2)
Both of which are bad.- gives a sense of closure
- no boss fight
