I had made some spells that I could cast during combat. Some of them were awesome but I can not remember how I did it. I stopped playing this game for awhile and now I forgot how I got into that menu. I know this is probably a stupid question but could someone help a newb out please?

I'm not sure I understand. Did you make a mod with new spells or are you saying you can't remember how to cast spells? If the latter, just click on the spell icon in your hotbar (or drag the spell into the hotbar, then click on it) and target the area or creature.

These were spells that you could not assign to your quick buttons. They were special spells that you could send out a long distance from your character and center over an enemy or enemies. They needed to be made and can not remember how or where to do this. You needed special ingredients to make them. Also, how to you attach a Rune to a weapon? I should not have stopped playing for as long as I did. I have forgotten way too many things about this game.

Putting runes on your weapon is done by Sandal when you're in camp. Just speak to him. I'm still unclear on the spells. I don't recall being able to create any spells that won't go into the quickbar. Are you talking about bombs, perhaps? Even then, bombs will go into the quickbar too.
Maybe it's something I've not discovered in the game?

Uhm no, I guess it's bombs... The only aoe You need ingredients to make...
No spells You have to "create" in any other way ingame so...
And You can't really forget the whole gamesystem, easier to say You never learned it^^
Or if it's really the case, sorry for unintended insult...
Bombrecipies You buy off vendors, and create them using the Poison skill, then just put them on the hotbar *drag a bottle there and presto, useable via hotbar*, remember to have skill high enough for the specific bombs You wanna make AND use *need poisonskill to USE them aswell* All is stated in tooltips for each recipy and bomb/Poison/Poultice*
