Not only that, but the Vanguard/Adept has/will have Lash; as in, for whipping slaves? That's how I always interpreted it, at least. I definitely don't hate batarians in general, but I consider even the MP characters pretty shady.

I do like Ando however. He doesn't seem to have any loyalty to the hegemony being on Omega with Aria back in the day and all.

Did he by chance fight a large (like way larger than the average krogan) masked krogan and have his back broken at some point?

Not being exposed to any culture but their own? They had an embassy on the citadel for like 2000 years and still ran around acting like they owned the galaxy.

If Turians are something like the ancient Romans or Spartans,Batarians are like the Aztecs,bloodthirsty warriors and slavers.
I still don´t like them,but also don´t hate them,like I used to.

If I remember correctly from history class, Romans had slaves also,but they  appreciated culture and art.

Incorrect, the batarians were already settling in the Skyillian Verge, they were the first to do so, the humans colonizing planets in the Skyillian Verge(batarian territory) is an act of war, the Citadel council refused to back the batarian claim because they played favorites, the council knew the humans were a stronger military power, that's all there is to it. As for slavery and racism being morally wrong, I agree completely, but from a batarian's viewpoint it's not, it's part of their society.

Not really hard to understand, tbh.

If I remember correctly, the label "bloodthirsty warrior" could equally be applied to Spartans and Romans. The Aztecs themselves promoted education in spite of their bizarre sacrifical rituals, every culture has their ups and downs.

Honestly I kinda get it, bioware obviously made the batarians a race in the game humans wouldn't like. They're racist, isolationist, slavers, run crime syndicates and drug trafficking, and hideous to boot. We're obviously not supposed to like them, if you think about it...
