Has playing as a batarian in multiplayer made you change your mind about them?

Not at all.

They're still criminal scum in SP. Just because they're good classes in MP doesnt make me think anymore more of then.

You know, except for all those batarian civilians not doing anything wrong in SP, and the fact that being a good class in MP means they're fighting hard to defeat the Reapers just like everyone else.

Only talking about the Batarians that have been encountered.

Have we met any "Good Batarians"?

We've encountered all the batarians I have thus far described. They don't need a short story worth of dialogue to convey a theme or concept. We see them, we hear them talking, we've encountered them.

As for ones Shepard has personally talked to, several of the Blue Suns batarians you talk to on Omega during the Archangel mission were just regular guys doing their jobs, and Omega also has Marsh the shop owner who is a perfectly reasonable guy. During the Mordin recruitment mission you have the option to save a sick batarian who, granted, was being a racist ******, but he had come to a logical conclusion based on the fact that humans were not being affected by the virus, and is sufficiently grateful if you save him.

I've always thought that there should be dailogue between members of a squad in multiplayer that's like background info on races or organisations the classes belong to. Like how companions talked to eachother in Dragon Age 2. I think there should be some dialogue like that, like extreme competetiveness from Kroguards and Kroldiers, and maybe a little more sinister personality from the Kroshaman. Batarians should be aggressive and talk about how they're going to bag and tag one of those damn pyros when they get a chance. The N7 characters should talk like spec ops soldiers and make obscure references about operations. Maybe inside jokes with other N7 squad mates, but with regular ones they act kind of flippant and better than them.

I don't mean like every time you kill something your character yells "HA! PLUS ONE FOR THE KROGAN!!!" I mean they should have contextual conversations, but not casual ones. They are being sort of shot at all the time.

Well, most batarians are forbidden from leaving batarian space, so the ratios of good batarians to bad ones might be skewed...

The ones who are let out are mercenaries, pirates, terrorists and slavers, they serve the will of the hegemony one way or another, whether it's attacking human territories, kidnapping people as slaves, or generally committing acts of terrorism.
