I wasn't even saying that, exactly. It's the redundancy bit that sucks more. Some people just want to be able to roflstomp any difficulty, but if the team's gonna roflstomp, I at least want to be a part of it. I'd like to feel useful, maybe even somewhat necessary.

Gotta admit, though, I'm sort of like that (re: lone wolfiness). I don't like sticking near the group exactly (pairs I don't mind), and if the team's general strategy is more about camping than anything else, sometimes, if you leave an area rather than just waiting for enemies to walk to you, enemies will spawn in an area behind the other players and they sort of die. Don't like doing that to people, so I generally feel pretty miserable in camping games.

I know that the game's designed around fun, and I definitely have more fun if I actually feel useful.That's sort of my point. Not worried about people saying mean things, but it does kinda blow to be pretty damned useless in a match. I think you've successfully avoided the experience, because you're one of the top tier players. I'm not BAD. exactly. I can clutch a few waves if I need to (on gold, probably not platinum), and while I don't have a perfect knowledge of what enemies spawn each wave and where they'll spawn based on where players are standing, I have a fairly decent intuitive sense of it. Relative to most of the playerbase, I'm good. On a team with great players, though, I can tell that I can't keep up, and that's way less fun for me than knowing that I'm a helpful part of the team dynamic.

Well INVADERONE is just average, Caineghis2500 is a lone wolf off doing his own thing and Ashen Earth would critique my builds, so I wouldn't play with any of them. Also I'm on PS3 so I couldn't. Also this was a joke, and I'm saying that instead of letting you guess because obvious jokes are being taken seriously in this thread. Also if I were on Xbox I'd choose Ashen Earth because I don't like listening to people on mic while I play.

Relax Biggs is a friend of theirs and plays with them alot. He's also a very good player. every bit as good if not better then invador and cain

I wish I knew multiplayer would be so good because I would have bought for my PC instead of the Sheitbox 360.

That's actually the problem with playing with any great players. My place in the match is basically to not screw anything important up in regards to spawns and such, and to keep my place in the hack zone so that we can earn our creds in a timely manner. Sort of like the group I play with now. We're all competent, so I can not be at my best and we'll still make it through, but I never feel completely redundant. Still gotta admit that I'm probably the worst in the group, but we still work fairly well together.

I've actually taken invador on some platinum speed runs, and mind you he's not a speed runner and has said such, and he did fine. Good players will adapt to anything.

Still Gollum has to be on my short list. I watched him clutch a wave 9 plaitnum while the other 3 was down (me included in that) with a FQE and a prebuff Harpoon gun. I don't think i've seen that many pahtoms get unicorned w/o a missed shot ever.

Some people are really efficeint killers like ashen and some other friends i have which i won't name
Some people are good at staying alive and killing at their pace
most of the people good at 1 are good at the other.

MilkAcat's pretty awesome too. Have played with Ashen only once - still I think you're the best player I play with regularly anyway. Upinya for the short list! lol

Yeah Milk is an awesome player. Ive seen him just dominate the killfeed at times lol I think he's better then i am personally. I think i have quite a few people on my FL thats better then I am. I guess its all relative. When i play PUGs i usually feel like a Biotic God, then I play with some elites from my FL and I feel more like bronze spawn nuking scrub lol

I will say that invader is a good player and a cool guy. Was fun to play with for sure.

OK when we do it I'll run through with your capture settings. I have learned from a lot of my mistakes which I am ashamed to say are many.....many ...mistakes. lol

This is what passes for 5-star 8-page MP discussion these days?! Jesus, if it's not threads crying about or for every little balance update, it's pure circlejerk threads like this (also the "troll" threads).

It's sad to say, since there's so much more potential for in depth build and tactic discussions with ME3's co-op mode, but official mass effect forums had higher quality strategy discussion before MP was ever introduced.

I have not learned how to fine tune it. If only capturing was as eays as playing the game lol

Those threads exist, they're just old. Cyonan has spreadsheets that give specific weapon data, which enemies spawn on which waves, information about spawn mechanics, and another spreadsheet for enemy damage/health/armor/barrier/shield values (I think he put stagger threshold values on there too). People discussed speedrunning strategies long, long ago, and they still work. People still occasionally discuss builds, but what's there to say beyond "Yeah, good build," or "What about this one instead?"

There isn't much discussion left to be had about tactics and how to play the game, because it's all been done, and there's just not a lot of follow-up. To find it, there's a helpful lil search feature that you can use.

What's left to talk about besides balance, the horrible quality of most PUGs, and general 'coolstorybro' stuff (including individual player skill)?

I've played with all three, I think, but if I had to take just one person it would be Ashen but only because he rocks the GI as hard as I do. Nothing like two or more mastered GIs running through a match. Utter carnage.

I'd also like to take Gollum and Nate for World GI Domination.

Ashen Earth is God. Since there is only one God, I have to assume the other two are mortal. This would then appear to be an easy choice, but it actually isn't. For who am I to speak of having GOD on MY team? I'm pretty sure just the thought breaks several Commandments.

I'm staying loyal to the one I've played well over 100 games with, and who was a big part of me starting to consistently play Gold back in early summer. Oh, now I'm getting mushy.

Seriously though, the recent trend toward threads about people rather than the game on this forum makes me concerned about the future of the game itself. It's also a bit mortifying.

He's mortal... I've seen him die, once (Banshee). It ended up with me soloing wave 3... and burning a bunch of rockets to get the stupid drone to move across Hydra (dead randoms). It was... an anomoly.
