I like the combat music, but I don't like that it significantly raises the db levels of the music when you enter combat. If the sound is up loud enough for regular conversations, it blasts my ears off when combat starts. Sometimes I have to quickly rip the headphones off. This means I either have to turn down music almost too low to hear outside combat, or I need to adjust the volume every time I enter and leave combat.
Obviously this is annoying and is a nearly game-breaking problem for me. I guess the developers assume that everyone has destroyed their ears already with ipods.
Is there any way (even if I have to fumble with programming) to force the game to leave the audio levels alone when entering combat?

That's a good question. I also hate it how the music amplifies in combat.
My guess is that this would have to be done through FMOD - possibly it would involve compiling all the combat music into a new project and tweaking it... as far as I know, no project files are included in the game distribution? Not sure, but I think it would require quite a bit of work.
