How much of that is aim, and  how much of that is the game playing itself for you?

Even without resorting to "auto aim", game designers have to go through a lot of hoops to turn rather "fuzzy" input from controllers into seemingly sensible actions by the player. There's a pretty good article about it here, if you're interested.

No "one-button-everything", typically. With keyboard and mouse there's usually no need for something like the A button that does everything. In ME1 , for exaple, interacting could be done, I believe, with the E button and spacebar by default.

Mass Effect 3 did it in a spectacularly stupid fashion, but a good PC-design doesn't have that.


you can't blame the platform for the stupid game design choices.

Both on PC and Xbox the (space/A button) one button everything makes the cover system feel a little slopy...

Right.  That's bad game design/lazy people not bothering to change it for the PC.  But you can't say that is a bad thing about PC, rather than the developers.

I can give a quick history of this subject

You see, the advent of consoles, particularly the Xbox 360/PS3 (tbh anyone that didn't like the PS2 etc was dayum crazy), signalled a major decline in the quality of games we received; the "dumbing down" era, where all the beloved titles that gamers (including PC gamers) held dear for years got their new sequels that were about as fun to play as tetris and had received "tweaks" to make them more "accessible"...generally to younger aged chaps that spend their nights swearing on xbox live games of CoD. The term "multi platform" game drew groans from every corner of the PC gaming community as more often than not it just meant the PC version was a port with all the terrible terrible gameplay mechanics of the console version, let alone the technical aspects (oh look MW2 matchmaking with no dedicated servers ha)

the quality of games decreased, the PC players raged MASSIVELY, the inevitable hatred of the consoles sprang from this

other stuff such as the superiority complex of having a gaming rig that makes any console hardware look like a pocket calculator and the superhuman ability to run games with AA and at decent resolutions contributed. Generally though most people prefer the freedom that the PC platform gives them, not being under Microsoft's foot etc (and why PC players laugh about paying for Live)...

alas these days much of the hate is gone, since inevitably the PC wins the debate, people old enough to have jobs can buy a beast of a PC for not that much money; have access to platforms like Steam etc and due to the age of the consoles their processing power is now more comparable to a game of Simon. The PC master race will always dislike the consoles though for holding them back, for stifling development, but thats another argument entirely

ME3 is a game that typically works quite well across all platforms, a lot of it is story driven and the gameplay lends itself to working well on both consoles and PC so its less of an issue

but the PC master race will always be sat in that corner, quietly waiting to assert their PCness

as a disclaimer, I own a PS3 as well as my gaming rig (I mainly game on PC though, PS3 is for exclusives and Blu Ray) but please do take my post with an added pinch of sarcasm

There aren't more players on xbox anymore.
Shooters are easier with a keyboard and mouse than a vidstick.

Funny though, apparently many people on Xbox use missile glitch and it's possible on PC too, but nobody does it? I'll leave you with that.

this is easy for bioware to detect.

So is missile glitching. You report them then BioWare looks at the game you reported. Oh hey look a crap ton of missiles fired ..... Right ....

so in this case bioware depend on the cooperation of the community.
and I doubt that everybody that have play with a missile glitcher have reported that.
I know that bioware also have means to detect the missle glitcher, but still.
if someone alter the files of the game, change the stats of the guns, it will be instantly detected by bioware.
so as you can imagine alter files on PC is not exactly common practice... as it was missile glitch on consoles.
and if this was common on PC, you would see way more people complaining about it.

No mac (I refuse to even capitalize it) will ever touch my home. No IPODs, IPhones or any of that crap either. The one time I allowed a mac product into my domain was to fry its electronics an laugh as it sputtered its death cry. And the purple smoke was ammusing too.

That being said, I am ashamed to say I play on the console for ME. I dont know why but the controls just clicked with me instantly. I hate myself for it, and rightly so but I am still a PC user at heart.

I was a pc gamer (MMOs specifically) from '99 to about a year ago. My old machine was showing its age and I made the conscious choice of picking up a PS3 in the hopes it'd ween me off my online addiction (slight exaggeration but not much). Instead I just play the PS3 as much but constantly lament having a platform that's significantly inferior for gaming despite never having to dick around with drivers and gfx cards depending on which game I'm playing.

I always laugh when I hear the phrase because there are two types of people who say it: people who know it's a joke and say it in jest and people who say it seriously and are unknowingly insulting themselves. Either way, it's funny.

In reality, their not honestly. Every system has it's own major downfalls, and, imo, PC has more technical issues then PS3 or 360.
*Note: I play on both PC and 360.
While it, usually, takes more money as well to play good/decent PC games, I've noticed in my past MMO experience that it gives them a "ego boost", so to speak, about having it. But at the same time, I've met more douchy PC players then 360 players since I've been playing both, so I prefer to stick to my 360 over my PC any day.
So it's really just about preference.

Why is everybody talking technology? Based on my experiencePC PLAYERS are the master race. It's easy to cheat, yet in over 1200 games I've only seen ONE game with a cheater. I've only been kicked twice. PC Players are generally friendly, helpful, competent and fun to play with. You can select U/U/G without ending up on FBW/GG all the time.

Meanwhile, if BSN can be trusted 3/4 console gamers are rude, missile glitching noobs that will kick you just because you have a banner and they don't. ;-)

No offense to you but I'm tired of the whole thing. Basiclly they think they are better because they can mod, etc, etc. Controller, keyboard what ever you use or play on doesn't matter. We all come here because we love Mass Effect and/or DA. Why can't everyone just stop arguing over petty sh*t and enjoy the game.

Also anyone who considers themselves a part of a "Master Race" I'm going to assume your some sort of ****, being a **** = not cool bro.
