My ME3 disc isn't recognized anymore when I try to play. It recognizes autoplays every other game but now when I insert my cd it sits there. I've reinserted dozens of times. The drive light blinks then nothing. Sometimes it makes a soun like it's attempting to center the disc and nothing.
Any ideas or is it time for a new PS3?

It works with other discs? Then your PS3 is fine. Something must be wrong with your ME3 disc.

Just a little under 3 years. Guessing all the hard reboots from the post Retaliation DLC freezes didn't help things. Oh well, been looking at upgrading anyways and that Assasins Creed 3 bundle looks tempting. Just gotta get the Ministry of Finance ( er Mrs Urdnot Bucdawg ) to sign off on it hehe.

almost 3 years. ok, now what shape is the ME3 Disc in? is it scratched or otherwise damaged in any way?
if you're PS3 plays other discs but not ME3, it's an early warning sine. also how full is the Harddrive?
sometimes that plays a factor.

also the sound you are hearing happens on PS2 that are on the way out as well, kind of a spinning almost grinding sound. if so that is a clear indicator that you're PS3 is near the end of its life and its time to get a new one before it's too late if you plan to do a system to system Data swap.

No scratches on the ME3 disc , but I won't rule out it being damaged in some ways since I've let it sit in the drive for long periods of time , even overnight to play in the morning . I have one of the 120 gig slim models with usually between 60 - 70 gigs free .  I do backup my saves to a flashdrive so when it is time to upgrade PS3's I don't lose too much .

You're not alone here. Just recently I started freezing randomly online, now even tells me it is a disc read error. Meanwhile AC3, WWE 13, and several other newer games run fine and never have this issue. Even after lengthy sessions. It was something either on Sony's end or Bioware's end. Either way as I said, you are not alone here.
