I just read somewhere that Cole is a rumours companion for Dragin Age III.
Aneone know if this is true and please let him be a romance option. When I read asunder I just wanted to hug him over and over!^_^

This is what I read: Cole: A long time ago, a young man died a cruel death in a dark place.
And now, somehow, there is Cole. Was he a spirit of a demon? Is he human
now? Cole’s not sure it matters anymore. Hounded by memories that
aren’t his, incisible in a world he can stalk like a shadow, the rogue
must decide between joining the living or preying on them.

The other one I read about was this guy:

Dorian: Dorian Pavus is a magister. The title conjures fear of arcane
masters who once enslaved nations. Dorian may wield power of the
magisters, but he delights in not being what you’d expect of them.
Brazen and clever, this outcast is on a crusade to rid his homeland of
its corruption.

Edit: On a sidenote I also read that their would be as many as ten companions. Anyone know if this is true and if that will lead to more romance options?

I really hope is "real" as well and a romance option.... did I mention I'm pro-mage?:P

Anyway, am I the only one with a soft spot for Cole?

I haven't read Asunder, but he seems interesting, if a bit Anders-ish. Hopefully not, but he does have certain parallels. But I'm more interested in Dorian to be honest. It'd be nice to learn more about Tevinter, from a much more neutral view too, (even if he is a Magister, he doesn't seem crazy or bloodthirsty or power hungry, hence the neutrality we didn't get from Fenris and associated characters).

He is clueless demon. He is murdering everyone, and is happy about it.. Something like a little Fredy Krugen.

I am not sure if they won't cut him out though, those companions they linked are not final. The ending of Asunder leaves it unanswered where Cole end up, but as Gaider said that books or comiexs are not canon, that means if Wynne or Shale are dead before ending of Origins, he will be still stuck in Mage Tower of Orlei, killing anyone that gets in his way.

And someone from Bioware also said that they are't doing ten companions - can be more or can be less. My guess is less, as that brings more quality (look at Origins, and then look at ME2 with Calibrations)

Read Asunder. Seriously. Fantastic book.

Bear in mind that much of that information comes from the leaked marketing survey, which has a few points already proven to be incorrect (or at least changes). I would't take any of it at face value until confirmed by Bioware.

Origins had ten companions. (If you include Dog and Loghain).

This is where there can be a problem with including characters from previously released books into the games. It is very tough if not impossible for the player to get rid of their bias about the character. The op likes the character and will like him in game for sure. I hated the character (he was interesting no doubt). I would have a very tough time putting aside my readers bias when I met the character as if my player met him for the 1st time.

Yeah thats kinda what I got from the character too, personally hes someone I wouldn't want to hug, let alone romance; (not that I'm suprised that its being asked for) but to each is own.

Meantioned this in a prevous thread, but honestly I'm hopeing none of the charcters that were introduced in Asunder (Rhys, Evangeline, Adrian etc) come back as companions, at this point I'm hopeing for a whole new set of characters we've never met before.

I think Cole is an interesting companion choice. I also think it is neat that I don't know if he would betray me or not in the end of the story. You'd proably be able to influence him to do good or evil also.

Actually Cole was in the leak in the companion section. Cassandra and Cullen already have their leaked images out. So yeah, there is a chance.

Could you elaborate? I'm not aware of anything in the surveys being proved incorrect.

Rumour has it that Emile de Launcet will return as a love interest.

As for Cole, I really hope it stays a rumour. I don't want that piece of crazy in my party. How would they properly flesh out his character without spoilers anyway.

It will tickle my inner muppet if Cole is a companion/romance option. I think he was incredibly interesting in Dragon Age: Asunder.

Also he would serve as a wonderful mouthpiece for the; "We need to start tearing down and rebuilding the way we think of the fade", argument.

Which they do. I mean I don't understand why the mages usually take the Chantrys word for how the Fade works, it's their stomping ground, if anyone knows about it, I think the mages would.

OMG! If this is true then I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Loved him in DAII, but romance option? YIKES!

I'm more interested in Dorian to be honest, he sounds like my kind of guy. I haven't even read/seen/ met him yet and I already feel he'll become my bro. From the description he wants exactly the same thing as me: an uncorrupted nation of magic.

Cole seems interesting, but he sounds like a Fenris already, not knowing who he is/ was, having unique powers etc...

Cole is a poor, lost, confused demon puppy that occasionally kills people.

Therefore I need him as a companion and LI.

Lambert and the Red haired Mage (whos name I forget) were the most consistent and sensible people in that book.

From what I've heard about him, Cole could be interesting.

But there needs to be the option to go "AAAAH! Demon! Die!"
