I think time played includes single player and time spent waiting in lobbies and stuff.

If I didn't own so many games and buy ME3 2 months post-launch -- I cancelled my pre-order out of protest over the DLC, then the ending made me iffy, but when Amazon did a $30 sale I couldn't resist -- I'd probably have over 500 hours logged by now.
