There's enough of this sentiment from people listening to music in traffic, in public, on public transit, in waiting rooms, solo partying next door, etc. I don't need someone else's crap playing while I do the thing I do to unwind and get away from that.

And saying Nickelback is something we all like suggests you've never been on the internet before. You might as well assume everyone wants to hear Celine Dion.

Queen and ACDC are the only two you listed that I would consider music, the rest is garbage. Even if I like it, I don't want or need to hear it while playing. Keep it to yourself.

If nobody does then great, if someone does then just turn off your music for that game, no biggie.

my mass effect playlist also includes Madonna, Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses, Skillet, Three days grace and more.

None of the bands you mentioned there are "Hardcore" by the way (and if you meant Hard Rock, then only two of the bands on that list fit that description). If you are going to mention subgenres, at least get them right.

If I want to listen some kind of music while playing, I will put it here, I don't need you for that, but the case is that I'm like Venon from Spider-man, noises are my weakness. Your music on the back (our you breathing, our your damn cough) will just f*ck with my effectiveness, which means if you left your mic always open, I already have a issue, with music, I won't stay for another match...

About everyone loving this kind of music, we have people from all the world playing this game, with a variety of preferences, in countries with different cultures and religions. Don't assume everyone will like your music, sometimes it's the complete opposite..

edit: plus, depending on the quality of your mic, what I gonna hear in my end won't be exactly something you can call music, or something that is near possible to appreciate..

Personally I like a good portion of those bands, but it annoys the crap out of me when people do this, regardless of what music it is. If you want to play it in the lobby, fine by me, but once the game starts, I just want to focus on the game, not have to have mindless background noise.

oh come on guys, Nickelback is great.. they have so many songs that fit with mass effects theme... songs like If Today was your last Day etc are fantastic, dont forget Hero, which, imo, is Shepards theme song.
