So.. we got this Templar-Mage war going on... all these different groups that could pop up, factions within mages believing different things... are we going to get a group of mages that believe that mages with mage parents are better then mages with non-mage parents?

This is EXACTLY the kind of thing that belongs in the Unconfirmed Rumors thread.

Muggles are filthy. The only true mages are ones born from both mage parents.

I doubt it, since magic in Thedas apparently occurs as a random mutation.

I seem to recall, the dwarf in Origins who wishes to study the theory of magic claiming the Tevinter kept some sort of genealogy records. Which would make some sense if you are trying to create a mage only aristocracy.

It doesn't really work like that, from what I understand. The aristocracy is the aristocracy, but it's based on power. Parentage is irrelevant except that given the way their society is set up, magi are simultaneously your only potential heirs and your only potential future competition, and it does seem to run in families. As for being the mere parent of a mage, that doesn't really help unless the mage is powerful enough to make it, and cares enough to. Bear in mind the child was still raised by the Tevinter Circle.

Like Harry Potter? I don't think so. I can however see Apostate vs Circle Mage going.

The further this series can distance itself from Harry Potter :wizard: tropes, the happier this BioWare fan will be.

No that would be just another namecalling.
In the chantry we must make an example. We write a new passage in the chant of ligh, that there will be a new group of blood mages. They will have be cured by Andastres Ashes and therefore there blood magic is pure.

So they have demons, but the demons are only chained by them.

See it? See it?

Now we can have all that awesome blood thingie and the Inquisition.
