not to be rude but this is kind of flooding my inbox, would you mind making your own thread or something?
thanks for your help so far, though.

I'll bet you'll like Mass Effect for the same reasons as Dragon Age... Bioware excels at this type of RPG. I also have much love for Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) and KOTOR2 (latter executed by another company, but also great) ... and Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer (same game engine) ... also Jade Empire by Bioware...

If you like the story elements don't bother with Oblivion, Fallout 3 or Dungeon Siege 2.
If you like multiplayer, go for Neverwinter Nights (has toolset and a lot of customization. There is a huge website with tons of stuff you can add)
If you like scary games go for Doom 3 (its a shooter, has some story, very cinematic)
Dont bother playing Black & White 2 if you are over 10 years old.
If you like single player fantasy with some plot and combat try The Witcher (Enhanced edition, or you can buy the regular edition and download the 3GB patch)

If you're really into games with a strong story that just sweep you away, you could try Homeworld. It's a real time strategy game, but set in space. It was released back in 1998, and really does have a charming story in it. You actually care about the people you are leading through the galaxy. I won't spoil any story here, but give it a whirl sometime. You can find copies of the game still sold on amazon.com. Other than that, I'm not quite sure where else would sell such a game anymore. Also, try Knights of the Old Republic. It's another Bioware game, and also really engaging and good. Jade Empire has its own charms as well, and once again is a Bioware game. Hmm... there are definitely others, but I'll have to think of them.

Oblivion game play is dull. I used to play it a lot... over 1000 hours on it... thinking of it now gets me enauseated!
Try Risen, fresh Oct/09 game by the Piranhas... really hard game and immersive to boot!
