After enough time had passed, my headcanon saved the ME3 ending, and I was actually able to enjoy the game again. I bought and played Leviathan, too, and let's just say it should really have been in the game to begin with. It is some late attempt to make sense out of the ending, however, it also raises some additional questions. All in all, I would advise anyone who did not play ME3 yet to buy and play Leviathan before finishing the game.
You already did play the game, so I'm not sure for you. It really improves the overall experience, but in terms of game mechanics it is rather pointless. The content is okay, but I think it is not much in relation to the price.

Watch it on youtube. There's no decisions (something that doesn't matter in me3 at all).

Totally worth it. A lot of info that makes endings more logical.

I thought it actually made the chat with the catalyst a bit of a mess.

While I didn't think it lived up to the hype of being as good as Lair of the Shadow Broker, Leviathan provided a solid three hours-ish of content with some interesting tidbits on the creation of the Reapers. There’s great squad banter, it felt fleshed out, and overall was like it should have been a part of the single player experience instead of tacked on as DLC. You can get by without it, but if you enjoyed the single player experience in Mass Effect 3, you’ll probably want this to go along with it.

Having watched it on youtube there are a few questions that begged to be answered perhaps someone who played it has answers?

1) We see a leviathan disable a Reaper capital ship without firing a single shot. We learn that it through some power (mental I assume since they are organic) that was magnified via orbs they made. The question is, Does this mean that the reapers have an organic component that can be attacked? If so, why didn't Shepard pick up on this and get equipment to analyse the method used so that they can duplicate the attack and disable other reaper ships?

If it wasn't a mental attack, on an organic component, what was it then?

2) Leviathans are supposed to be able to indoctrinate lesser races. Hence that that was how they communicated with Shepard. It wasn't clear but obviously they were able to take over a person's mind and communicate with them or make them do things they want, why didn't Shepard pick up on this since he obviously had memories of the take overs and he knows that his mind might have been compromised. Was this further explored in the game?

If you liked the EC, then yes. If you haven't liked any of the game conclusions, then no.

Its basically more of the same; justification.

It's worth it for the atmosphere alone. It practically oozes a certain mood. That's very well done. Combat can get a little annoying - too many banshees - but that's what the difficulty setting is for. The ending reveals another part of the Reapers' backstory, and that part is ok storytelling-wise. Not great but it gives perspective on the bigger picture. And did I say the atmosphere is great....

If you aren't one of those people who say that SP DLC is pointless unless it drastically changes ME3's ending, then yes, it's worth it.

Storywise it is quite weak and is little more than an attempt to make the Starbrat seem like it was always meant to be there which is bad, however the Leviathans are pretty cool in and of themselves.

On a major plus though I thought the level designs were pretty amazing espcialy fighting though a level being bombarded by Reapers as the place falls apart and the final planet plus underwater section also pretty darn good.

All in all its ok, not amazing but ok. Don't go in expacting an amazing storyline ala Overlord or Shadow Broker, just approach it as another level which has little effect on the overall game and you should enjoy it. Just my opinion ofcourse :)

I found it fun, intriguing and informative. Other than one or two little glitches which are fairly easy to sort out, I would definitely reccomend it.

A lot of pointless answers that everyone already figured out, there are some revelations as expected but in the end you'll have even more questions than before, specially in how those revelations affect the choices presented by the Catalyst.

To me it was a little better than Arrival but far worse than LotSB, but it depends on what are you looking for. I rate it low because I was looking for answers that weren't there, if you don't care about this then you'll probably like it.

Go watch it on Youtube (you're not missing anything, no big branches) and spend the $10 on 10 movies from Redbox. Bingo, you just got 20 hours of entertainment! Story will almost certainly be better, too, unless you pick your movies VERY poorly.

Believe it or not I'm going to say Yes.

For those of you who don't know me I'm not exactly a fan of ME3. It's not really a bad game, it's just very disappointing especially as a follow up to ME1 and ME2. I've had a lot of trouble replaying ME3 ever since I beat in March ( on the PS3 ) and I never thought I would be able to go through the game ever again which is a shame since I also own the 360 version which I never really made any progress on.

Anyhow 2 weeks ago I started a playthrough on the 360 ( just to get some Achievements under my belt ) and I was surprised at how far I managed to get through ME3 this time around and then I heard that Leviathan was available on Xbox live for 400 mps for Black Friday and I thought "why the hell not, it's only 400 points" and you know what, those were probably the best 400 points I ever spent on a game. It is LotSB and Overlord quality, 3 very different levels, lot's of squad banter ( I was quite surprised by this ), lot's of loot/war assets and not a bad story. It does have a few flaws but I would have gladly paid full price for this if I was happier ME3 as a whole ( still angry at the ME2 squadmate situation, the auto dialogue, the fetch quests, the Udina/Anderson counceler decision and the Rachni Queen decision and the Ending ).

I'd say no since nothing matters. But I give them respect for recording dialogue for all squadmembers

I liked Levi more than Omega, my shepards Li had some good banter and the rescue scene was so cute ^^

Gee, why not just watch ME3 instead of buying it?

Leviathan is amongst the better DLCs in the ME trilogy. Probably the best after From Ashes and LOTSB. Good gameplay, good squadbanter, and a nice break of pace with the detective section and the ending of the DLC (don't want to spoil it.)

The detective section was a nice break from all the shooting ( ME3 needs to mix up it's gameplay more often )but it wasn't perfect, Unlike a lot of people I like EDI ( one of my favourite ME3 squadmates ) and I wanted to punch her after I finished clicking on verything in Brysons lab.

I had watched a few bits and pieces of Leviathan on youtube and I must say it's looks boring if you are just watching it but it was surprisingly fun.

This thread was created a month ago and has been abandoned for like 27 days. I guess the guy either bought the dlc already, or doesn't care any more, so I don't see the point in reigniting this debate.

i enjoyed it and if it was in the main game all along then Me3 would be better. It offers a very welcomed change of pace from the constant pew pew pew and provides some spooky moments and some atmospheric ones.
