From Polygon:

Omega will be available on Nov. 27 across all platforms, clocking in around two hours and taking up 2 GB of memory.

That seems... a little short, frankly, for 1200 MSP. I'll wait until we hear more officially, but I don't think I'll be picking this up if that's the extent of the new content.

Update:

CVG says Omega is five hours long.

Where would they get such wildly different estimates? Did the number come from their media playthroughs, or from developer comments?

Eurogamer is also saying five hours

That's probably if you just do the story and not find everything, talk to everyone, do all the sidequests, etc... still yeah, $15 for 2 hours is short.

It's supposed to be the largest DLC they've done yet - perhaps they mean in terms of custom and original content?

I'm OK with $15 for 2 hours but it better be a damn amazing two hours and not just endless corridors of firing guns.

It also says twice as big as Leviathan, which took me about 2 hours, so I'd assume it'll be closer to 4 hours if you chat with crewmembers between missions and enjoy the scenery.

I buy it and if there isn't a new armor and weapons included, I will wait before buying any other DLC.

At least we know they're creeping up on that 2 gig limit. Time estimates will always vary from player to player but I remember Leviathan being advertised as roughly 2 hours and this is supposedly bigger.

Well now I feel stupid pre-ordering an extra copy of ME3 at GameStop way back just to get the n7 Valkyrie code...

It does seem short for the price they want you to pay if that time estimate is accurate. However, I'm getting it for the Turian female and the fact I was a part of the conversation months back when players were talking about an Omega DLC.

I just hope this Nyreen is a permanent squad member. Haven't had a new addition to the crew since the first day dlc. Mass Effect 2 had Zaeed and Kasumi within the first couple of months.

Yeah it would be nice to have another female on the squad if you play female and don't save ash in ME you end up with only two females on the team Liara and Tali <_<

Not really too bad I guess, we can nitpick about hours all we want, because even if it was 6 or so hours, face it.

If the DLC was say 6 hours, it comes out like this.
50-60USD game which took most people around 30-40 hours vs 6 for 20USD.

DLC will always be less pure raw hours of value.

But I didn't think that GB = play time. Isn't most GB in ME2 & 3 just cinematic cutscenes which isn't really playing time?

*mutters about next gen not arriving soon enough to unshackle PC users from this bullcrap limitation*  Sorry, long mutter.

Leviathan took more than 2 hours for me too at least on my first two playthroughs.  My 3d and 4th were shorter.

"Shape Omega’s future through four death-defying missions, and strike a devastating blow to the Illusive Man's plans."

Hmm.

CVG claimed Omega was 5-6 hours, with Leviathan being 2-3. I got more than that from Leviathan (Around 4 and a half), so I'm not worried.

At 2GB, two hours is quite unlikely. Three hours should be the bare minimum.

I'd take this with a nice little grain of salt.

As always, play time differs from person to person. You do everything, explore, side quests, all dialog and combats, you will take longer than someone who only does the crit path and finishes. This is why we do not come out and say "The game will be X hours" because, inevitably, people will complain it took them mroe or less than we stated.

Here's a novel idea, wait until the DLC is available. Read what other people say. Then base whether you buy it or not on that. If you think that Omega is worth the cost, but it. If not, don't. I think it will be worth the cost, but I understand that most of you feel my opinion is highly suspect. Worrying now that it is too long, short, whatever is rather pointless.

@Priestly: I would be lying if I said I totally trusted everything you (or anyone working for their company) said, but I appreciate you chiming in. And you're probably right, I tend to spend longer playing DLCs as I go through every dialog option and press all the buttons.

Difficulty probably changes it a lot too.

Which he also said in the Paris vid.

For me, first time through I kinda rush. Second time is when I slow down and do all the extras.

I remember spending a lot of time on Mass Effect 3's day of release just talking to Javik in between missions simply because I wanted to know more about his race. It'll be interesting to have some dialog options with a female Turian so you can ask her questions like "How come I've never seen a female Turian before?/Is there only one of you in the universe?", etc. ::P

playtime for me is secondary to everything else. I've wanted an Omega dlc since the first time I talked with Aria in Purgatory and now I get one in 20 days I think most people just want to know about Nyreen and if she is a temp member like Aria or a permanent member.

I don't know. Anytime I hear "2 hours", "no squadmates" and "15 dollars", the concern mounts. Something needs to be worth the price boost.
