CVG claimed Omega was 5-6 hours, with Leviathan being 2-3. I got more than that from Leviathan (Around 4 and a half), so I'm not worried.
Ah, I hadn't heard this. That's... quite the discrepency between CVG and Polygon. Were they going off a developer source, I wonder?

Bioware, I hope you made Omega an explorable hub for players to revisit and do side missions....Otherwise I can't see why I would drop 15 dollars on it.

- No squadmates
- No new squadmates
- No hub...isshh? Wording is kind of confusing, but it seems to indicate you can't return. But there may be some small things to do. *That function like a hub world.

As always, play time differs from person to person. You do everything, explore, side quests, all dialog and combats, you will take longer than someone who only does the crit path and finishes. This is why we do not come out and say "The game will be X hours" because, inevitably, people will complain it took them mroe or less than we stated.
Here's a novel idea, wait until the DLC is available. Read what other people say. Then base whether you buy it or not on that. If you think that Omega is worth the cost, but it. If not, don't. I think it will be worth the cost, but I understand that most of you feel my opinion is highly suspect. Worrying now that it is too long, short, whatever is rather pointless.
Which he also said in the Paris vid.
For me, first time through I kinda rush. Second time is when I slow down and do all the extras.
I'm the polar opposite, my first play thru is allways the slowest, i talk to every one, explore everywhere, try every door etc, second time out i'm a lot faster.

Always, Mr. Evil!
If there was a media playtesting session (CVG said they 'barely scratched the surface') I'd expect devs to give a ballpark idea of how big the content is to the gaming press there. Unless they actually took five hours to sit down and play through it all...
I understand your point that the length definitely varies from player to player and that we shouldn't use playtime as a barometer for quality. That said, I'm more inclined to purchase DLC if it's heftier, and length plays a part in that for me, especially for narrative-driven content packs.

I'm the same way I like to find everything my first runthrough so me 2nd or 3rd is much faster. Leviathan wasn't so easy to do that when you went after the Dr. with harvisters shooting at you randomly

Within Omega, though, is plenty to do. There's a central hub, Aria's
bunker, which you use to upgrade her drug smuggling operation. From here
you trigger side mission as you do in the main game. Outside the hub
are four main missions, each lasting about an hour, that take players
all over the station. “There's an exploration aspect of Omega that's
really important,” Condominas says. “Of course you will revisit the
places you know, such as the Gozo District and Afterlife, but 80 per
cent of the places you've never seen before.” You'll do a lot of
crawling around smuggling tunnels fighting Cerberus agents, from what
I've played.
From eurogamer* article.
Seems like a main hub.
EDIT:
Corrected.

I was only asking as you asked "were they going off a developer source" when I said "we never give a time". Seemed a bit odd.

I don't know. Anytime I hear "2 hours", "no squadmates" and "15 dollars", the concern mounts. Something needs to be worth the price boost.
I wouldn't be surprised if the reason for the price hike was due to the voice acting budget.
I'm getting flashbacks of TOR. Too much money spent on voice actors. Too little spent on content.

upgrade her drug smuggling operation.
Is that a mistranslation? because in context it makes no sense what so ever. stoked for omega and upgrading anything is always awesome just found that rather odd. why in the hell would we be upgrading her drug smuggling operation while the place is over run with cerberus and why in the hell would she need to smuggle drugs on omega any way.

Yeah, this *could* be good. If there's a lot to do in this temp-hub and it's bigger than Bryson's lab. At least it will be available for the entire DLC so we can start Omega after Plaven and then wait to finish it till Cronos which will essentialy make this hub available as long as the Citadel.ElitePinecone wrote...

Good thinking, as long as we can travel to and from Omega.

It's odd how people rarely complain about $15 for a movie ticket, but if DLC only lasts 2 hours charging $15 for that experience is a crime. Let's not forget you can replay the DLC across several characters, thus extending the hours of enjoyment.
Maybe because people relize that DLC worth $15 is what half (or thereabouts) an expansion pack normally costs and realizes that only 2 hours is not nearly worth that.

The choice to either side with Aria or viciously side with Aria. (is that supposed to be an ironic joke?)
Probably no choice but to kill the only interesting character on omega(petrovsky)
No hub
Really sad that something that could have had real potential seems so utterly devoid of actually delivering it.
