It's odd how people rarely complain about $15 for a movie ticket, but if DLC only lasts 2 hours charging $15 for that experience is a crime. Let's not forget you can replay the DLC across several characters, thus extending the hours of enjoyment.
It is pretty weird. Personally, I know I'll be getting a lot more out of the DLC than just two hours. Most other sources place the DLC at approximately 5-6 hours, which sounds right about a DLC this size and even if it was simply two hours, multiple playthroughs and the chance to work with Aria to retake Omega is going to be worth it! I'm looking forward to it.

Maybe because people relize that DLC worth $15 is what half (or thereabouts) an expansion pack normally costs and realizes that only 2 hours is not nearly worth that.
That's an interesting way to put it.

The no squadmates thing is a leap of faith really. BioWare games are best for their characters and keeping away our most loved ones is a risk. I suppose their absense will be made up for in other ways.

I don't really care so long as it's good. What really grinds my gears is news posts saying "Game X was 200 hours long!" when 180 of those hours are filler. I suppose Bioware could add in some planet scanning or hacking minigames to squeeze some more play time out.

I think it will be worth the cost, but I understand that most of you feel my opinion is highly suspect.
Lol
Personaly I m going to buy it because Leviathan took me like 4 or 5 hours (playing on Insanity) so if you say Omega is longer It will be something like 6 or 7 hours maybe, so I m 100% ok with that.

if it were't for the xbox and ps3 we'd have larger but they can only do so much.
rubbish.
considering the serious lack of firepower compared to a top spec pc - i dont think the xbox and ps3 are that bad. just wait till next year when the next gen come out and your gaming pc becomes near obsolete.

I think Tymathee is referring to the 2 GB limit for DLCs on consoles.

I don't know. Anytime I hear "2 hours", "no squadmates" and "15 dollars", the concern mounts. Something needs to be worth the price boost.
Guess the price boost is based on the fact you get two NEW (temporary) squadmates.
I'm kinda disappointed I can't bring my fave squadmates for the job and have to pick the new guys. Nothing wrong with the new guys, just disappointing for the ol' gang. That also means BW took the cheap part by removing conditional squad banter (based on your choice of characters), which means less lines need to be added, less budget spent on that field ... well, you get it. Nothing wrong with that, especially if said budget is spent on different stuff improving the DLC.
However, I wonder if that DLC is going to be the last one. I'm still hoping for a Virmire DLC for the VS, I'm still hoping for DLCs expanding Miranda's story, allowing Thane to get cured, I want Grunt back as squadmate - all the jazz. My main focus is on the VS, obviously, but I'd also want some DLCs dealing with ME2 cast.
Whatever. I'm a bit disappointed since I had hoped for new stuff for the old guys, but ... well, we can't have everything. I'll buy it for the lore's sake, but I won't buy it at day one ...

Omega is the biggest DLC for an ME game yet, and (it looks like) the longest, so if it does do well we might see a move to bigger packs rather than the shorter missions we've seen previously (LotSB, Kasumi, Javik, etc).

Well, the fandoms really should rally up and support each other for certain DLCs. Tbh, I can't see that happening right now. As I said, I would support every single story/romance DLC if that helps me to get my wish: that's a Virmire / VS romance DLC. But I can't expect the fandom supporting that DLC ... know what I mean?
If BW listens to what the fandom wants and is ready to pay for, we better should stand together.

(I'm a sucker for nostalgia, also, and the injokes about omnigel were amazing)
I'm hoping Omega is similar to LotSB - at the moment that's the high water mark for what DLC can do in terms of storytelling and sheer impact.

No choice of squaddies
The choice to either side with Aria or viciously side with Aria. (is that supposed to be an ironic joke?)
Probably no choice but to kill the only interesting character on omega(petrovsky)
No hub
Really sad that something that could have had real potential seems so utterly devoid of actually delivering it.
The "no choice of squaddies" part is what killed my interest in Omega. And it was the only condition I had for the DLC.

I'll probably end up buying this DLC, since I am usually the one to advise my family and friends on whether or not something is worth the money. To me, no squad mates, questionable running time, and nothing huge like a new character or hub world... there has to be something extra to warrant the cost. Simply having a good story isn't enough- Shadow Broker had a great story with tons of goodies.
If this was the cost of shadow broker, I'd be pretty excited. At the 15 dollar mark, I'm still wondering where that extra 5 dollars is going towards. My fear is that its covering Aria's VA, and the development of Nyreen's model.*
[*Which will inevitably be repurposed for multiplayer, and earn more money in microtransactions.]

I'm failing to see the interest in "I want to bring MY squaddies along." I mean - whats the point of this argument? Just for the sake of hearing maybe 1 or 2 unique lines from them....which aren't that unique and just a rewording/revoice work of the others? This seems like a pretty pitiful reason. I mean, I don't mean to defend Bioware since the reason why we can't bring them is the obvious budget...
Apparantly, not all of us have the same priorities and wishes -- some of us actually like the interaction with the squad more than shooting Cerberus guys. That's particularly true when the outcome of the next DLC -- liberating Omega from the Illusive man, I assume -- will have absolutely no impact on the war with the Reapers. And if you believe my reason not to buy the DLC is pitiful, then I'd like to know why you want to buy it.

- Bring Down the Sky - None
- Pinnacle Station - None
- Zaeed - None (it's a loyalty mission for Zaeed)
- Kasumi - None - can't even bring another with you
- Overlord - None
- LOTSB - None - Liara doesn't count since she wasn't a member of the squad
- Arrival - None whatsoever in the slightest
- Firewalker - None
- Extended Cut - Free DLC after a fan backlash - doesn't count as it isn't new missions
- Leviathan - Save for EDI and James, there is squad interaction but it's all copy and paste. Similar to any run of the mill missions where they spout commentary - which for the most part is the squadmates saying the exact same thing.
You act like this is a new thing. Leviathan only had it with EDI and James. I like squad interaction myself - but when the squad interaction is all the same copy and paste it really isn't that big of a deal.
I don't recall me saying I will be buying it. Strangely enough - I don't have much interest in this DLC. I thought I would but the content seems...lackluster.

Welcome to my world on March 6, when I was planning on rotating Jack, Miranda and Grunt as my main squad.
Now, I still miss Jack, Miranda and Grunt, but I'm looking forward on having ANYONE other than the tiny ME3 group on my team.

I still don't know why this dlc is $15 dollars?
Leviathan & Lotsb: 2/3 hours long - 10 $
Omega: 4/5 hours long - 15 $
1/2 more hours of gameplay require more content to be developed, and that requires more resources for development, hence the extra cost.
For me the decision to buy/not buy omega will depend on the quality of the story and the content; if it will be of Lots or Leviathan quality i will probably buy it.
