Not sure if this has already been discussed here but I was contemplating earlier today about a interactive backstory comic for DA3, like ME2's Genesis. For those of you who don't know Genesis was a Dark Horse comic released alongside ME2 for PS3 which let you decide important choices that Shepard made during ME1, like LIs, the fates of teammates and "ant-agonists" (see what I did there? Rachni Queen, hurr hurr! :P) and the outcome of major battles. You can read more about it here: http://masseffect.wi...Effect:_Genesis.

Seeing how (and don't quote me on this) DA3 most likely will be released on the next-gen consoles I imagine it will be difficult, if not impossible, for people to transfer their seventh generation DA:O and DA2 choices into DA3, and a well-made and interesting backstory comic would certainly solve most of these challenges. Any thoughts?

Threads like this always draw the "Bioware needs to set canon" crowd, who say that anything that deals with choices from past games only weaken the story of the current game, and binds the hands of the writers into making that weak story.

I however would like to see something like this, though not an actual comic, but like a book type thing.

No. Just give us a book that just ticks off your choices.

No need to get a comic where they have to waste time drawing it, then a character voicing it and then only having enough time to mention like only 5 choices.

Yep, a quick summary and boxes to tick should do just fine. Dragon Age is not a trilogy. It is not like Mass Effect. DA games are loosely related but they do not form a cohesive narrative continuum. Dragon Age series is kind of like a sequence of historical events rather than a solid arc of one (or few) character(s).

Mass Effect got a story comic because it is a bit awkward to start playing from ME2 instead of from the start. DA games have different protagonists and the effects of choices from game to game have been at best cosmetic.

I want Bioware to maintain some sense of consequence between different DA titles but no need to waste much resources on that.
