Abilities in my module stopped working

I have no idea what could have caused this, but for some reason, activated abilities (quickbar stuff) have stopped working in my Dragon Age module.  That is, clicking them simply causes... nothing to happen.  Characters don't cast spells, whether targeted or sustained.  The only ones that seem to work are ones that bring up a UI panel, i.e. crafting.

I have not overwritten any scripts that handle abilities, I do not have any custom abilities, and my game install is not corrupt.  Abilities work just fine in the main campaign and other mods.  I have removed all mods and DLC and I still have the same problem.

I'm truly at a loss.  Has anyone experienced this sort of problem before?  Any suggestions and things I can check out?

Figured it out. I have no idea but somehow my var_module file was modified or damaged. The variables in there (and for all other modules) are completely different from what they should be, as well as their values. I'd appreciate any insight as to how this may have happened.

How it looks:

If possible, can anyone with the Ultimate Edition of the game check out their var_module list and let me know if they have the same issue?

I have the Ultimate Edition and checked the var_module list and it doesn't look anything like your sceenshot. I wish I could help you out sea-, but I just don't know enough to offer anything constructive.

Thanks for checking.  Fortunately I had a backup of var_module that I can use, so everything works again, just that the default one I have is... wrong.  I really don't know what could be causing it.  The Ultimate Edition thing was just a guess... I "upgraded" to that version a few months ago but this problem only manifested recently.

Since the file is in a 2da, my only guess would be a naming issue somewhere that caused the variables to be overwritten in the database. But I don't see any obvious pattern. It almost looks like the header names in an excel file when a huge number of columns have been added - but not quite.

I wish you luck with it and please tell us if you ever find the source of the problem.

I was afraid it was hard drive corruption or something but I kind of doubt it. I haven't had any other problems, just this, and if the data really was corrupt it'd probably just be non-readable gibberish.
