I can move mouse over things and they highlight something but I dont know what I am clicking onto. Please help me.

What language are you using and installed DA?
Not aware of this issue but is very similar to the NWN series so...
Check you have two files.tlk in this path -> \\Dragon Age\\modules\\single player\\data\\talktables
If not, I guess you can get those and paste them there. Another DA player would do the favor.
(I'd, but i'm guessing you don't play in spanish)

Ah, you can find also these files in your DVD or iso of the game, they are inside campaign_tt_languagename.rar. Use Winrar and extract the files to the above path
Dragon Age\\modules\\single player\\data\\talktables
Let's see if you can fix the issue.

Several things, from messed up TLKs to video card problems, can cause this. If Qkrch's suggestion doesn't work, you can try searching for "text" and see if any other potential solutions work. At any rate, you're better off asking in Technical Support.

The most common cause that I have seen, lately, is attempting to use one of several very low quality video cards that cannot deal with pixel shaders properly, although bad drivers might also be a situation. Over the three weeks since DA:O's release, I've seen a half dozen messages from people trying to run the game with antique hardware, which includes the horrible Geforce FX generation of ridiculously bad video cards. There were two more of them back through the tech forum today.

Got DA from Steam and had the same problem.
There's an option somewhere (dont remember what its named,i think it was an option when r-clicking DA under 'my games' in Steam) to check for missing files, turned out i was missing a certain number of files somehow. (if i remember correctly)
Then either it gave me the option of dl'ing them or i had to look for that option somehwere(sorry my memory is like gruyère cheese , i know)
After that it was fixed.
