Nope. Bandwagon Fallacy.

Nope.I'm arguing in universe not the bsn.

We're arguing the consequences of the choices, not the absurdity of the delivery mechanism (which is only relevant as a pro IT argument)

good job on providing evidence to back that up. you inspire us all with your ability to work the forums

Criminy. What's up your ass today?

I don't lay out whole arguments and walls-of-text in every single exchange I have with a forumite. Never have. That would be long, tediuous, and highly inefficient. I let on more facts and arguments as people care to get more involved into conversation.

No point in giving a whole big post response if I get no follow-up, so I tend to keep my posts succinct to start off.

Problem?

Put it like this:

Or do you believe that synthesis and non-synthesis people can't coexist, and that any non-synthesis people would need to be synthesized against their will for their own good? Because that sounds really familiar

Was the second part of that post two difficult to answer HYR?

The person I was speaking to was speaking about the delivery mechanism. As for the consequences of the choices... well, again, if I'm being lied to, it's safe to assume that it wants me dead and that every option will kill me, so I have nothing to lose by any option. In any case, I don't think it'd call me up to it or speak to me at all if it wanted me dead, as it's the only reason I see an option to do anything at all.

There is no way to get a consensus about it (or the decision as a whole) in-universe.

Not exactly sure what you're asking, however.

well actually , i don't think it does call you up, because in low ems endings it is surprised your there

control and destroy would be there ., but synthesis requires both so that might not be there. just my guess/. and personally i would just start shooting sh*t so i would possibly get the destroy option. or well end up shooting the wrong thing. like the control panel

The ending fired my head out of a cannon all right.

I think you'll all be impressed with me when I say that my head gets fired out of a cannon in all three endings, not just Synthesis like OP. So I clearly have you all beat. Furthermore, once fired, my head struck the fourth wall at a terminal velocity of 300 miles per hour. Clearly superior. The thousands of other heads that struck that wall only achieved 200 mph, tops, and their splatter radius was a mean 1.2 meters compared to my staggering 2.4 meters. Here again I am superior.

don't think anyone can actually answer that question though . not much evidence on it

hell the reapers might go a reaping for old times sake if they run into organics

@Nightwriter

guess you have us all beat :(

Fine then. Destroy it is.

You don't want to be synthesized? Then I won't choose it. Most people hate the idea. I'm not justified in forcing it on those who loathe it.

You don't want the Reapers as guardians? Then I won't control them. Their mere presence will probably do more harm than good.

I'll choose to obliterate all synthetic beings so you can feel comfortable with your organic freedom.

You can headcanon anything. Initially "my" ending was that Shepard woke up from her horrible nightmare that she had about some annoying ghost kid on the Citadel and then went and destroyed the Reapers.

That's some really disingenuous, groan-worthy logic.  Control and Synthesis require you to wilfully commit suicide via vaporization.  Destroy requires you to shoot a suppression device that is preventing the Crucible from firing.

It requires me to shoot something, but I have no way of telling what it is just by looking. It requires me to trust the Catalyst to do so. And again, it didn't have to turn itself on to speak to me, or to accurately direct me to which target to shoot, or anything, really, if you assume that it's lying.

well gotta love that logic

@Cosmic

kinda sad , means there a possibility these threads will stop =(

but hey i wouldn't want synthesis lol or damn reapers floating over head so you got that right , but no reason to pick destroy. well it is i suppose but it is up to you .

@Xilizhra

but it is red. which usually means agression and such . blue is all about calm so obviously you stay away from that .

or something like that . or just think red means renegade, blue is paragon , but in ME2 red was destroy and blue if i recall was control . hmm so that means

So, let's see, either the Catalyst is completely trustworthy, or no matter what a 16-ton anvil will fall on my head? *groan* This point that you're trying to make is ridiculous. TTG has addressed it pretty thoroughly in his Deception Theory thread, which I've already linked multiple times.

Apparently, the Catalyst is the Road Runner, and Shepard is Wile E. Coyote.
