actually they would. the geth that came before would be dead. but again the race would go on, just like what happened to the batarians you murdered

Not all batarians are dead, but all geth would be.

and yes because shepard taking over the galaxy will go over well with everyone. and doesn't matter. still putting synthetics on top ,

Better that one AI hold power over the Reapers than billions die.

means a hell of a lot more then betrayal , oh and slavery . and oh and omnipotent dictators ,

I may control the Reapers, but it's better for them than death. And I'm not betraying anyone, nor will I be dictatorial.

actualy as soon as you kill your shepard and make a AI it becomes a dictator

and you tell yourself that. destroying what they were is still killing them  , just a bit more twisted , nothing like taking away what someone is and forcing them into slavery, no that is 10x better then just killing them out right ., great way to become your enemy i suppose

right , megalomaniac says what ? same sh*t . the geth can have more made. race will go on even though most died. same as batarians. they are gone forever , but the race will live on. can't argue that. keep saying they die because that gets you far

I agree with everything that Synthesis is, except for the fact that it's forced on everyone. That's it.

So you're okay with people being altered to be peaceful?

It destroys everyone a little, and it controls everyone a little...
Sounds like the perfect compromise...

I don't think that's what happens. It's possible, but I like to think that the technology gives everyone easier access to knowledge, and by accessing that knowledge, people are more likely to empathize with others.

I'm staying out of most galactic governing affairs, and the Reapers were already enslaved; I'm just changing the guard until they can be released.

The geth can't go on; their civilization and entire population have been wiped out. A new geth civilization could be made, but it'll never be the same.

@Cosmic

all endings have their ups and downs. just follow your gut man . as said your shep has no one to call on at the time. so just make a decision

no one can tell you what to pick. and threads like these will just have ppl going around in circles. like me trying to convince Xilizhra both control and destroy are bad ,

so anywho . choose one. then start bashing ( or not ) ppl for their choice

OP: If I remember correctly you intended not to make any more threads about the ending? correct me if I misunderstood

Is this thread one of those "I know you are but what am I?" thread?

I do not recall headcanoning anything positive apart from reapers are destroyed and that people are free to choose their path... Wait, that is not a headcanon is it? Man, you tricked me...

Well, except for all the people you murdered. And the ones the Leviathans might claim.

What? The murder of the Geth and EDI is not a headcanon, it is a fact

Then why don't the reapers just stop the harvest, right now?
Why do you have to alter people to appease them?

What's so wrong and offensive about organics and synthetics?
I thought synthesis was inevitable, so why don't they just stop?

I thought it couldn't be forced...

1) yeah well good thing you didn't kill off your shepard giving power to a AI , least you control the out come . and because they were already enslaved means that it is al right. you are changin them again . forcing them to do something that they may not want to . same as the old catalyst . but hey as long as you are going to free them when you are finished with them. that totally makes slavery right   oh and the fact your going to turn lose a reaper threat , again , totally won't backfire :innocent:

2) again the race will live on. and the dumba*ses probably had a back up somewhere. or a file marked geth civilization , if not that is there problem .

but again race still goes on. if they get rebuilt that is . but interesting coming from someone that wants to jump in the same boat as machines that destroyed countless civilizations,  the catalyst forced my hand . totally not my fault:innocent:

Hahaha, "already enslaved..."

So two wrongs make one right? Are you saying reapers LIKE to be enslaved?

I suspect that the Catalyst can't abandon its mission. It has no self-determination. It is bound to its mission to preserve organic life at all costs. If you don't use the Crucible, then it has no choice but to continue its current solution. Interestingly, Synthesis could be considered an admission from the Catalyst that its mission is futile.

actually synthesis is part of its mission. that is what will stop the cycles to it. as said it has tried it before.

not saying don't pick it because of that , but it is its solution to the problem , the end all. but the catalyst could never do it

Not in the grand scheme of things, which is what it's obsessed with. I guess Synthesis creates the singularity, but allows organics to be a part of it. It's possible that it could happen on its own, but it's more likely that organics will destroy themselves before they achieve it.

Also, I find it hard to believe you aren't bothered by EDI's "I. AM. ALIVE."...
I'm pretty sure you're of the opinion they were already alive...

I am bothered by it, but I think it's better than killing her. She gained an organic understanding of what it means to be alive. I know that you think she's been brainwashed, but that's something we're probably just going to disagree on.

Whether or not it's "right" matters less than the fact that it's the least wrong.
