Well they have already said they'll be fixing the combo damage bug.

I do all the time... it's not bad at all. Just kill the swarms on sight... shoot the Praetorian when the bubble goes up. If you just brought an Acolyte with you... that's your own fault.
I find that Smash and Reave both dominate the Collector faction.

Same, I find the Fury to be a very effective class against Collectors. Just make sure you don't get swarmed.

just accept the fact that bioware will not implement the suggestions of sirian. there is more evidence to suggest that they do not test the game mechanics properly with each patch/release. WE are their testers and they do not listen to any possible remedies. i'm not going to be buying any more products from EA/bioware due to the whole me3 debacle (sp and mp).
The thing is that they have a great game in ME3 MP. But they seem to ignore crucial issues while 'fixing' things that don't matter or can't be fixed. The game is far from a debacle, I loved the SP (except the ending) and love MP even more, but it could be even better if they would just listen to their players more.

That's because he's probably never been cornered by 2 Hunters, 3 Rocket Troopers, 2 Geth Bombers, and 1 Geth Prime while trying to revive a fallen squadmate who hadn't fallen far from you. It all started with the Bomber sneaking up because it makes no noise.Lord_Sirian wrote...

I wouldn't say it's a debacle... but allowing the Geth to become what they have become is a major gameplay oversight.
I remember back when I was a kid, a gaming magazine I read had catagories to judge games by. Those were Graphics/Audio/Controls/Gameplay/Fun Factor.... ME3 gets rave reviews in all those catagories... but if you were to simply judge the Geth Faction by those standards... Fun Factor would be around a 2 on a 1-10 scale.
I'd rather scrub my toilet than play Geth/Condor/Gold or Plat....

debacle (in my opinion), i thought the story was astoundingly stupid, and like you say, they ignore the issues that matter in making the game fun, and change things that don't need to be changed. shame really.

If they listened to the players more the game would be unplayable for everyone but all the tryhards who keep wanting them to make the game harder. I'd prefer to let Bioware do things their way, thank you very much.

Was going to put this in the other thread about this thread, so I will just put in the relevant bits.
The drone was supposed to have that attack at release, but it was bugged. So they fixed it in the patch. They didn't say "oh let's make the Geth more annoying!"
The next problem was that for half of the game's time since release people were farming geth and skewing the data so that it appeared that the Geth were the easiest faction... most objectives completed. And since they balance in a large part on the game data, they ramped up the Geth.
Criticizing the design of the geth faction as a whole might make some sense. No need for the "I can't believe Bioware is trollin' us, bro!" One problem is that they tried to make combat versus each faction different rather than having really only one faction, but with different named units depending on which you select. Which is why there was no melee or sync kill unit in the Geth arsenal. More slow push, ranged artillery with the Hunters and Pyros to flush units from cover.
Personally, I could do with a bit less stun, especially if it limited some of the more "cheap" feeling stuns... which mostly comes from Rocket Troopers that ripple fire several rockets in short succession, or the classic Hunter falling backwards, but still getting of a solid GPS shot, stun. Drones needed to do something so I am happy they fixed their attack from that perspective. Primes should not be able to cast turrets that aren't in their line of sight, and probably should have a bit longer cooldown on the drone casting though.
The problem is, often when BioWare decides to make a change to address some perceived problem with the game, they simply go too far with it. They obviously wanted to make the game less farmable, so in response they:
1) Altered the map layout of Firebase White and Firebase Glacier
2) Made it impossible to grab Geth Pyros
3) Introduced the Prime Drone stagger rocket (they fixed a feature that was intended BUT they could have removed the stun knowing the other changes they were making)
4) Added Geth Bomber with short-range stun attack AND stagger bombs.
And this was in addition to the ridiculous amount of stun already present with the Geth. BioWare had a problem with farming, and they threw everything they coudl think of to "fix" it, and they seemed to have completely missed the deterimental effect it has to gameplay when playing the Geth.
I understand BioWare wanted to address farming, but in reality, 1 or 2 of the numbered items were probably enough. 3 is pushing it, but implementing all 4 went way overboard.

Al biotics work fine against them. Just take a decent sidearm and don't get hit by the swarms. (see my advice re. Prime's drones for further details)

London center hack is a tricky one. Not cheap as my learned friend above likes to point out. I don't think its bad you have to sweat once in a while to beat the game. London center hack is definitely a mission that can go south very easily.

Perhaps. In some ways I don't like what the new units did to Cerberus or the Geth. Geth Bomber is sort of annoying, especially when you don't know it is coming, and definitely at hacks.CmnDwnWrkn wrote...

It is interesting that they always said they weren't trying to prevent farming, but rather camping. Geth are still an ok faction to camp against, just have to target the bombers before they get to you essentially.
I think there is also an assumption that you should be able to get away with running in the open if you are "skilled" enough... which is essentially what many of the Geth units are built to counter. It is a cover based shooter afterall.
I agree that stun is annoying, sometimes not just with the Geth. If you have latency you can get stunned to death by a Scion, although admittedly this is much less likely than against the Geth.
