The (Geth Prime's) combat drone is a joke.

I don't care about campers, they can camp if they want to.

Bioware doesn't seem to share that opinion though (which is why I made that point in my post).

Scumbag Rocket Trooper disagrees with my post.

You don't want to side with Scumbag Rocket Trooper, do you?

they need to fix the enemies almost instantly stomping you out on gold/platinum when you are downed, mainly dragoons. your teammates have no times to revive you now most of the time.

You can't camp against geth, though, really. Bombers will flush you out...I guess not if you snipe them before they reach you, but still, in most cases you can't really camp.

They can still reward defensive gameplay (AKA camping AKA abuse of cover mechanics combined with poor level/spawn design, which BW never intended to be a valid tactic) without being completely cheap and removing all elements of player-skill from the equation.

You don't NEED to go all camping though, camping and playing defensive isn't always the same thing. You can be mobile and stay for a while a some place of the map and then move at another depending on the situation, that's how I play against them most of the time personally, unless I use one of the chars that can really go rambo against them. Although I must admit that on some maps like giant it's still really easy and appealing to litteraly camp against geth especially with a sniper.

Anyway you still didn't say how their tactics should be changed to remain challenging and at the same time keeping what makes their identity as a faction, IE a faction that rewards a defensive playstyle over an aggressive one.

You can camp against anybody on any difficulty nowadays.

I still think Geth Turrets are cheaper, since they have endless DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA rapid fire.

But drones have got to go.

I'm not Bioware's mum. I'm not going to do MORE of their work for them than I have to.

They're the ones with (supposedly) degrees in game design, that's something they should figure out, not something a player should have to.

Yes, alright, that's an exploit. I'm talking normal, open, UUG gameplay.

The changes made last week(?) definitely made things much easier. I don't mind the Drone keeping his stunlock, but some of the other units need to lose their own (Prime and Hunter, namely) first.

What I mean is, take the time to notice how much damage the Drone does on his own. Even on Platinum, it's barely anything. That stagger is the only reason it's even a threat at all. Problem is, every other unit in the faction staggers, too!

Pretty much. It's hilarious really, when bronze/silver players tell "learn 2 play" people who can solo platinum. Or boast extraction on gold vs geth.

And whoever designed it really needs to have their credentials and/or their brain verified.

Pre-patch, Geth were irritating, but you had a couple of consolations (namely no sync-kill units and that you couldn't be staggered while running or performing another animation, like reviving, getting an objective, doing a dodge roll, etc.)

So after months of people complaining about Geth stunlock, how it was cheap, frustrating and made the Geth very annoying to play... the mensa candidates on the design team thought that it would be a good idea to... add MORE stunlock? And stunlock of the very WORST type too? The combat drone's incinerate power will stop you mid-revive, and the precious stunlock immunity you received from running or performing an action can also be taken away at a moment's notice by the attack.

So you're running along, thinking 'Yes I've managed to start running, I can't be stunlocked for the moment', then a combat drone shoots you, you do an absurd-looking, absurdly long stagger animation and by the time it's finished you're stunlocked by sniper prime shots from across the map as well as cheating missile glitching rocket troopers and Geth Hunter shots/elbows.

Seriously, which game designer could look at a forum FILLED with people complaining for months on end about how bad the stunlock mechanic is, and then decide to design and put in place a unit that makes said stunlock twice as bad? This baffles me. And it's incredibly disappointing. One quarter of the game is entirely broken and the devs have not said or done a thing about it. Why?

Yes it's a cool story, brought to you by bro inc. Sure, I need to go back 2 bronze, etc.

not trying to support the Dev but

what if they intended to do, because of so many camping complains?

OR they can just fix the map so that you can't camp a spot.  Like Firebase White downstairs.  Opening up that back area was pretty nice addition.  Actually makes the map more playable.

What's strange though, is when I solo against Geth, they aren't half as annoying. In squad matches they get ridiculous. Same goes for Dragoons on Cerberus.

Which characters are you using to solo vs which characters are you using in the team games?

Whenever a character has an odd number of waves left for it's challenge...I'll start a bronze solo match so... Turian Havoc, Salarian Infiltrator, Female Quarian Engineer, Krogan Adept, Batarian Sentinel, Batarian Soldier, I thought I'd used the Kroguard, but apparently that was before Retalliation DLC, because I've only done 6/10. For Silver I suspect that it won't be as easy to solo obviously.

Okay, I know that this doesn't relate to the thread topic, but after seeing a few recent videos, I couldn't help but read the entire OP with an Aussie accent in my head, and it was glorious.

I actually decided to first try it with my demolisher, camping setup (harrier and black widow) and a buddy (destroyer) guarding my flank/rear.
The other 2 were just running around (human soldier and I don't remember what the other was).

I didn't have a problem myself obviously since It was on reactor so didn't feel any kind of issue, but the guys right down there near the ammo + 2 pillar things (that's where they usually held out if it got too much), didn't seem to have that many issues either, staggered/stunned a few times yeah, but then before they went down me or my buddy threw in a grenade.

So I still have to do the vid.

LOL if you actually read the whole topic you'd see there's a few more players that didn't agree that this was such a major issue.
I decided not to quote them yesterday since I didn't make the video you and I sitll haven't seen any proof, just people complaining, first it was too boring and too easily farmed, now it's too difficult and needs to go back to boring.

Oh and I noticed that a lot of the comments are just trash talk with no value, so your point regarding numbers is invalid, just because you are getting along very well doesn't mean you're the one and only voice, there are way more players then just you people, maybe those people I played with yesterday that didn't have a problem don't want to waste their time on proving you wrong since you'll continue complaining anyway, I'm one of the few apperently that doesn't care about you "Popularity status".

Also, I'm not someone that just says things unlike you, I'll actually do it once I've said I will.

So please do not lower yourself to that level again mmkay?
