And whoever designed it really needs to have their credentials and/or their brain verified.

Pre-patch, Geth were irritating, but you had a couple of consolations (namely no sync-kill units and that you couldn't be staggered while running or performing another animation, like reviving, getting an objective, doing a dodge roll, etc.)

So after months of people complaining about Geth stunlock, how it was cheap, frustrating and made the Geth very annoying to play... the mensa candidates on the design team thought that it would be a good idea to... add MORE stunlock? And stunlock of the very WORST type too? The combat drone's incinerate power will stop you mid-revive, and the precious stunlock immunity you received from running or performing an action can also be taken away at a moment's notice by the attack.

So you're running along, thinking 'Yes I've managed to start running, I can't be stunlocked for the moment', then a combat drone shoots you, you do an absurd-looking, absurdly long stagger animation and by the time it's finished you're stunlocked by sniper prime shots from across the map as well as cheating missile glitching rocket troopers and Geth Hunter shots/elbows.

Seriously, which game designer could look at a forum FILLED with people complaining for months on end about how bad the stunlock mechanic is, and then decide to design and put in place a unit that makes said stunlock twice as bad? This baffles me. And it's incredibly disappointing. One quarter of the game is entirely broken and the devs have not said or done a thing about it. Why?

Changes I want to see:

Decrease Prime RoF/Accuracy and lower chance to stun from 100%
Remove stagger from combat drone attack
Remove Geth Rocket Trooper Stagger
Fix double/triple/quadruple rocket scumbag missile glitching rocket troopers
Fix hunters shooting you while staggered/stasised/frozen/on the floor etc.

That would make Geth reasonable to play against.

Scumbag Rocket Trooper disagrees with my post.

You don't want to side with Scumbag Rocket Trooper, do you?

Yes it's a cool story, brought to you by bro inc. Sure, I need to go back 2 bronze, etc.

Now things are better

having 3 Geth Primes was BRUTAL, if there is ANY boss that needs to be FEARED is a pair of Geth Primes

2 banshees? Non issue most of the time, and If we are getting cornered then one player just has to equip a ramp shield and hold both banshees while the other 3 clean the map of everything else.

2 ATLAS? lol

2 Praetorians? They are fast ****ers and dangerous, but have a very big body so focused fire takes them down quickly (+ their ow I am down animation) and easy to anticipate attacks, so most of the time they aren't a problem.

2 Geth Primes? Focus on the primes and the loldrones will make you dance, kill the drones and the burst turrets of dead will kill you, search for the turrets and the primes will stun you while the pyro fries your ass.

No boss is hard on his own, but only a pair of primes posses a significant amount of threat, all bosses can be a threat with support from other units, but on pairs only the primes can take a player out.

A Pair? That's enough firepower to wipe out a small city.

Just one can be bad enough if he gets any type of positional advantage on you... or if you retreat from the situation the combat drone staggers you, then pew pew pew you're dead.

Pretty much

2 ATLAS? Go behind cover and shoot

2 Banshees? Shoot, dodge warps (easy) keep moving (running isn't even necessary if you do it right) and with Ramp shield you are pretty much unkillable.

2 Praetorians? Shoot, dodge lazors (easy) keep moving and shooting, running MAY be necessary.

2 Primes? Stay behind cover and shoot... spammed a drone? kill it with FIRE, oh crap a turret is behind you!!!! dead.....

Ok then run and shoot.... pair of drones are teaching you break dance? drop the keyboard/controller just drop it

Oh then grab cover and shoot
as prime gets closer kill the drone with fire and make a run for it before bursty the turret says hi!!!
Oh the prime stunned you... oh a new drone spawned
Oh you are dancing... drop the keyboard/controller just drop it

No more medigels? lost 4 of them in that single engagement? just turn the PC/xbox/PS3 off, go and grab a beer and punch your beach ball with all the force you can muster while thinking of that little blue ball of light.

The saddest thing is this thread having 28 pages of discussion and not a single explanation by devs.

Scumbag Biower Devs. Obviously they're busy doing important things, like figuring out which popular weapon/class they should nerf next.

To be honest, I would be... quite amused if they decide to add another stun lock enemy to the getn. That should be funny shouldn't it?

Whereupon Geth are reintroduced with every single unit of theirs possesing firearms that stun as well as melee stuns. On top of also stunning you whenever they so much as look in your general direction.

It would be glorious.

Unless your awesome squaddie decided to run into the main force like a rtard.

It's so easy to not get stunlocked that there's no issue.
The geth are fine as they are, could use some more primes.

Go away.

How about you go away if you don't provide anything useful to the topic, troll, or give a reason with some statements of why.

Please tell me you're in standup comedy. You're hilarious!

Are you kidding me, how are you people evne managing to get stunlocked, ever since they slowed the respawn rate of the drone and slowed the geth hunter's attack there is no such thing as stunlocking.
I only play silver and gold though, dunno if you're talking about plat.

You know how to pick out a troll? They call other people trolls. People who are clearly not.

Oh, and they troll. Relentlessly.

Bioware thinks utter cheapness = difficulty. There isn't really anything hard in this game, just total hacks by the computer. Near 100% DR flips by Phantoms, killed enemies spawning on top of you to kill you, Geth perfectly sniping and stunning you through the smallest holes in the map, Collectors brushing past you instantly killing you, sync kills, and on and on and on.

The best player in the world can't fight against constant cheats....eventually he'll go down. So it is with ME3; you can have all the skill in the world but go down because of some BS the game decides to throw at you. Hence why soloing is so dumb....almost completed a Platinum solo then killed a phantom, had another spawn behind me, still managed to kill her, then had another spawn behind me and sync kill me. Didn't matter that I landed perfect headshots on all three with my Graal; no, I was going to die and that was all there was to it.

After playing Planetside 2, I remembered why playing humans is so nice. If you get killed, it is because you got outplayed/out thought, not because the game decided you lived too long.

I think part of the reason why the game cheats (i.e. uses artificial difficulty) is simply due to technical limitations.

(1) Creating and running a truly good AI for a complicated game such as ME3 would be very difficult and computationally expensive.

(2) Because of the limits of current consoles the game can't have too many enemies on the map at once.

The inevitable result of (1) and (2) together means having a few dumb enemies that must somehow be difficult to kill for four players working together. This can only be achieved in so many ways, such as absurdly high health pools, extreme damage, invincibility shields etc.
