The OP made some  good points . Shame about the reference to " Biower". Why exclude the Devs from this discussion by antagonising them ?

 

I included that after about 20 pages of discussion, when the devs had made it plainly clear that they did not give a **** and were not going to say anything on the issue.

Just today a geth hunter shot me while it was MID-panic from energy drain AND shot with Disruptor rds IV...fyi ;$

Ah... Geth...

Rocket Troopers ignoring refire delay.
Hunter firing when incapacitated.
Turret DPS
Drone Stunlock
Prime Stunlock+DPS+Health+Curving Bullets
Bomber selective power effectiveness.
Bomber tiny hit box.
Pyro invisi-range.

Yup... unbelievably all of these can be considered working as intended except for the Rocket Trooper and possibly the Bomber Power Usage... And not one can be considered "fun" or "challenging". Though all are widely considered unbearably annoying, still no response from BioWare, I believe they did say once "We are looking at ways of changing the Geth" then again that was before Retaliation and Patch 1.05; they now have zero excuse.

Also (slightly unrelated)... the Geth Trooper... since it uses the Geth Pulse Rifle is there any possibility the variable rate of fire applies to the Trooper (like it does to us) causing Troopers to have varying Damage per Burst? Just a thought since you brought up the Geth.

I swear, fighting Geth on Gold and Up in the current metagame is like blind-foldedly charging, genitals-first, at a hole the width of a pencil. Sure, you might succeed in hitting the mark, but at the end of the day, win or lose, you're gonna be walking funny.

Geth stunlock is the Geth's version of the sync-kill. 95% of the difficulty in MP is sync-kills, so the Geth need their version or they'll be a total pushover.

Blame sync-kills.

I dont inherently disagree with your assessment, as I find stunlock & stagger to be the worst aspect of the game. There is simply nothing fun about having my ability to provide input severed, especially considering the input-output relationship is the cornerstone of game-play.

But, I blame the community for the combat drone change. Firebase White / Geth / Gold is what drove this change imo.

The ranged stunlock is a tradeoff for being able to use medigels.

I would think that the drone change was just a bug-fix, since it literally did nothing before.

The one thing I don't get now is why BioWare won't fix them. FBW layout is changed, bombers break your cover and you can't grab pyros anymore.

Why the hell do we still have to endure the stunlock?

Maybe it's funny? I dunno....it kind of is. Nearly everyone complains about fbwgg and Bioware completely demolishes slow farming opportunities with several changes. Anyone who was/is against slow farming should be happy. I never had a problem with slow farming...it helped get me comfortable in gold....so I don't like the geth changes. I liked the change to fbw, though...the map is much more fun.

While Geth Hunters are apparently fine, dat Drone had to be fixed RITE NAO.

Geth Pyros are an armoured unit so they were never meant to be grabbed originally in the game. The reason they could be grabbed was because of a fault in the programming that bioware fixed in later patches. Part of the reason FBW/G/G farming became so popular was because the Pyro was meant to be the geth unit that could flush campers out, but because they didn't work as planned they encouraged players to sit behind the counter and grab them.

Everything about the geth encourages players to sit behind cover. They overbuffed (stunlocked) them and basically peanlized anyone who wanted to play them straight up. Meanwhile never really addressing the issue camping with any of their balance changes and new enemy introductions. It wasn't tell wholesale map redesigns that farming was stopped on white and glacier.

But just on this page I've seen a few people try to blame FBW farming for the change
Which is BS since the developers have stated the drone is now working as it was originally intended to work

Geth Soldier with wall hax and Typhoon with drill rounds. Geth on Geth violence with no cheap stun lock as you shoot everything from behind walls. I always switch to this character when I join a lobby that has Geth selected as enemy faction (which friggin baffles me why people willingly fight this faction. Banner farming?)

More like must forum contributors.  Build,
weapon selection, play style, might all be a factor in why you (and anyone else
might be have a problem with them)
