This is a collection on EA PAGES, LINKS & TALKS WITH EA TECK SUPPORT  I continue to see tons of connection problems over and over, so I tried to collect everything in one spot. There is a number of things that could cause your problem.

My Disclaimer, please read!!

But understand neither I or EA or Origin can guarantee this will solve your problem.  Don’t make drastic changes to your computer without being able to revert them, if something goes wrong. I am trying to help people
solve connection problems, all results are your own fault. I accept noliability.

A.---Check to make sure you have the latest drivers!
B.--- Probably the biggest thing is Mass Effect 3 needs open TCP & UDP ports on your computer,

•UDP Ports: 3659, 1024-1124, 18000, 29900

•TCP: 80, 443, 9960-9969, 1024-1124, 18000, 18120, 18060, 27900, 28910, 29900

•Using a restricted connection

(such as NAT 3) can cause problems hosting a game. You will be able to create a
lobby, but no one will be able to join it via quick match since Match Making
will identify you as a “bad host”. However, if you invite your friend directly,
you will be able to join without any problem. You should be able to join other
games without any problem.

•More troubleshooting steps for
network connections can be found at https://help.ea.com/...n-to-ea-servers

NAT type is one of the single
most important and most overlooked aspects to a quality online gaming
experience. Learning how NAT type works and how to forward your
router/firewall’s ports correctly will save you countless hours of headaches
trying to understand why your connection isn’t as strong as it could be.  While sudden disconnects can occur for a
variety of reasons, a good way to gauge whether it is your internet connection
or something else is by paying attention to your Xbox LIVE/PSN connectivity as
well. If you’re having to sign back on, or losing connection to your party/VOIP
session, then the problem is likely coming from NAT/firewall or ISP
restrictions.

First things first. Are you using a Microsoft/Sony suggested router? The Microsoft and Sony support pages have a
wealth of information on how to properly set up your console in your home network (including lists of recommended router types).

Xbox-
http://support.xbox....p/console-setup

Ps3- http://us.playstatio...Lrouter_1_0.pdf

If you’re directly connected to your router and still experiencing connectivity issues the problem is more than
likely, your NAT type. The easiest and most simple way around these issues is
to enable UPnP or Universal Plug-n-Play.

1.First, you need to access yourrouter’s config page to see if it supports UPnP.  (Router config pages can usually be found on any literature that came with the device, or even the manufacturers website.)

2.Usually this is a separate
portion of the config page that allows the user to check or uncheck a UPnP box
(enable or disable). Once you find this box, enable UPnP and back out.

3.Save your config page changes and reboot your console. Performing a Network test now should reveal that you
NAT is open (the optimal Online gaming condition)

4.Play through a full game to see if the problem persists

If you are directly connected to your router, do NOT have UPnP capabilities (or it didn’t work to enable UPnP)
and are still experiencing connectivity issues the problem is still, more than likely, your NAT type- only it is now slightly harder to fix. The process and exact steps of forwarding your ports will vary depending on the make and model of your router but in depth tutorials can be found here.

http://support.xbox....p/console-setup

The steps for Ps3 are exactly the same except you would change the specific port numbers to-

UDP 3659, UDP 6000, TCP 9946, TCP 42100,TCP 13000 -> 13100

After forwarding your ports,
always make sure to save your config page changes and reboot your kit to ensure
that settings are taking effect.

If you are still experiencing
problems with disconnects contact your ISP support line to see if setting up a
‘DMZ’ is the right option for you. (Always take care when exploring this option
as it could potentially open your network to unwanted communication.)

If you’ve exhausted all NAT
options and still find yourself disconnecting from the EA servers- write down
every step/action you take on the way to the point of disconnect (make a note
of any special settings/options you have personalized in the game) and
communicate the problem to an appropriate forum thread. EA employees are
constantly monitoring and researching community issues. The more thoroughly
researched and reported the issue, the quicker the fix can be put together.

To open TCP or UDP ports, follow the instructions below:

1.Click on the 'Start' button on
your Windows Taskbar. 2.Click on 'My Network Places.'

3.Under the 'Network Tasks'
section, click on 'View Network Connections.'

4.You should now see a list of
the network connections available to your PC. The network connection which you
are currently using should say 'Connected.' Any other connections should read
'Disabled.'

5.Right-click on your current network connection and select 'Properties' from the menu list.

6.Click on the 'Advanced' tab. 7.Click on the 'Settings' button. 8.Click on the 'Exceptions' tab.

9.Click on the 'Add Port' button. 10.You should now see a pop-up window appear.

11.Name your port and give it a descriptive name so that you know what port it is later.

12.Enter the port number under the 'Port Number' text field.

13.Select either 'TCP' or 'UDP' (these should be specified in the list of ports you acquire from your game).

14.Click 'OK.' You have now added a port to your network connection. If you connect later with a different
network connection, you might have to re-add any ports you entered. You might also need to repeat these steps if you need to enter multiple ports.

B.---Mass Effect 3 PC Compatibility Error

Some users are experiencing an error when they attempt to play ME3 on a PC. Even after updaing to the most
recent version of Origin before launching the game, a user may experience this PC Compatibility error. We recommend following these steps:

1.Disable the Origin in-game
overlay feature.  To do this:

•Click "Origin" on the top menu bar and select "Application Settings...".

•Select the "In Game" tab.

•Uncheck "Enable Origin in Game", then restart Origin.

2.If this does not resolve your issue, please uninstall and re-install Origin.
Once it has been re-installed, an Origin update will install then you will be able to play the game

Besides doing this there is a number of other programs that will interfere with Mass Effect 3. The list is
long. I was told to end the background running programs my typing MSCONFIG. Click the services tab , the hide the Microsoft essential services by checking the little box, and disable the running services. Do not restart the computer until you done playing. Programs like virus protection, video conferencing, torrents,
internet phones also can interfere.

    Crashing during Mass Effect 3

We are aware of a conflict with some programs that may cause Origin to crash when run concurrently with Mass
Effect 3. For the best possible experience, please close any non-essential program while playing ME3. Specifically, please disable any program that appears in the list below:

I am not God. Any additions are welcome! Enjoy

now now

just because the op is an idiot and posted about how to fix console poblems in the pc forum its no need to get rude about it

he's got the ports right for the lesser beings but of couse the higher escelons of gaming already know port forwarding is only really a concern of people who own/use gaystation since everything else is capable of creating and maintainting a upnp rtunnel wihtout the need for all that junk Posted Image
