Managed to get the Shale code to work, following the instructions on the page. Registered Dragon Age Origins with the website, tried to get the Blood Dragon Armor downloaded the same way I did Shale's and it continues to tell me that the code is invalid.

What happens now?

You dont have to register the game to get the download to work, but it should be easy:

Go to the download screen in the main menu and just tap in the codes. If its invalid it could be that your missing something like "i" or "l" or 0 (zero) or o.

Now this would not really explain why one code worked and one did not but if you check the back of the case it says that the code expires April 30, 2010.

I purchased this game maybe 4 months ago and my codes worked for Shale and the Blood Armor. I purchased it from Gamestop.

Because 4 months ago was March, the code was supposed to expire in April.

@Antares1987

Guess what? Mine actually got switched for a VIDEO of the 2 DLCs, $20 wasted!

Anyway, you now might get a video card instead of the DLC card, I compared a December 2009 card to a July 2010 card, they are the same except for the codes. So...yeah...

Neither code should work as they are both expired at this point. It does not matter if you buy the game new or not as it clearly states on the back of the cover "expires April 30, 2010". So the Blood Armor not working is probably because access to that DLC is now locked unless you've already downloaded it. Not sure why the Stone Prisoner code is working but a $15 DLC for free is still better then nothing.

Then why does Bioware still state that both work? Shale does not work for me, AT ALL.

Really Confused. I just got the game last night because a friend of mine recommended it. I got the DLC codes in the boxes, and it clearly states "Expires April 30, 2010." right under the code, but I got shale to work. I can't get the Blood Dragon armor though, which is what i really wanted. I could easily replace shale with a dog, but the BDA is irreplaceable. This saddens me. Any solutions?

I only recently discovered Mass Effect 2 and I am a huge fan. I don't think it is fair I can never collect certain content because I missed a dead line or some code expired.

The codes never expire...I purchased a copy for 360 about a month ago and got the Blood Dragon Armor code to work out just fine. The Shale DLC didn't work but if you just speak with EA they will likely enable it for you providing you have a code. That's what I did.

I've been on the fence about this game, and the BDA was making me lean towards getting it, but if the codes have expired, well...

I've having problems getting either code to work. With the codes having expired, do you think EA will still help? Also who would I write to about my problem?

It's great that you're a fan, but understandbly game developers want to promote sales as close to release date as possible.

Especially with so many people buying games used these days. Still I think Bioware should have made the code not expire for at least a year.

Actually in another thread about this issue, a moderator said the codes do NOT expire, despite them saying they do.. The decision for them to not expire was changed after the cards were printed, so you might try the code agan, make sure you are entering it via the in game DLC page, and not Microsoft's.

Finally got around to play DAO; haven't yet entered the codes and am confused about whether they will or won't work, and if I have to enter them on the website or in-game.
This wasn't helped by the forum search which didn't find this thread; luckily Google is my friend and brought me here.

Also I can't believe the enormous mess of problems when I search this board for PS3 DLC; I'll think twice about buying Mass Effect 2 when it comes out.
