Before you judge what I am about to say please take note that I do know this is not a sandbox rpg, and I am fine with that. Although I am partial to Bethesda - esque rpgs, I do enjoy and respect Bioware's style.

(I'm not sure if spoilers are allowed here or not, but here it goes.)

After you kill the archdemon your game saves in an epiloge state where you may complete downloadable content. I think that's perfectly reasonable. As it's stated ingame that it's a sort of time paradox in which all your actions will be considered done before the final battle. So I must ask, if that's so why are side quests unavailable, if DLC side quests are? It seems like an unreasonable cutoff to me. Again i'm not enraged by it by any means. It just seems illogical to me if it's all supposed to be happening before the final battle.

You can only travel to places marked at DLC, which again seems unreasonable. You can't replenish your supplies or travel to areas needed to complete DLC content. For instance the DLC with Shale. To complete Shale's story you must revisit Orzamarre (sp?), which of course you cannot since it's not marked as a DLC area. Quite upsetting.

I also was expecting a scenario like in Mass Effect. Where after the game ended you could replay as the same character that still had your experience and equipment. This gave you a chance to do things on that character better and of differently if you like.

So needless to say I'm quite disappointed with the end game options. But again I am not bashing this game by any means. I enjoyed it, and I still am
. As I just started a female dalish archery rogue, whom so far is proving to be interesting.

But is it really so many to ask for either of these options? To be able to play through the game again with the same character like in Mass Effect, or have more traveling and side quest options at the endgame? It still doesn't have to be a sandbox game, it can still keep it's rpg style.

My last question concerns patches. Will the 360 users get a patch? If so when? Does anyone know if the patch will have any connections to what I've asked here?

Anyways, thank you for taking the time to read this. I'll continue to play this wonderful game nevertheless.

i dont really have any answers for you however i agree that playing Chasr in "pre final fight" is awefully silly. and i find it dumb, why not just pick up after game is over? given if cirtin ppl live thru said events.

id rather it be like Fable and once "story" is done there still alot of things to do afterward thus opening the door to a expansion where we coudl go to stens or lieana home town and start a new mission there.. so in that respect they ddint program it well at all.

no taken ijn the time to go thru everything the true map is Quite small in comparsen to other games. it would be like FFVII and you only could play in midegar

Good game jsut lacking in a few depts.

as far as continuing in a Game + mode i dont think this game woudl be very much fun then i mean youd be able to kill everything in your path

i liek the origans plot and how diff it is.... until warden then it goes cookie cutter on us.

if i made it i woudl had say liek your WAR and you make said decisions then kalen woudla never died and say it was logain who was the travesty thus changing the entire platform of the game or making thre Dwarfs the nobles and the humans under ground lil thing that that to spruce up each ind plot line so to speak.

oh well. is what it is.

I liked the origins too, I wish I didn't *have* to become a Warden. Nevertheless it's still a good game. At least someone replied, it's appreciated.

yeah after i finished the game, i downloaded the wardens keep or whatever its called finished it in like 4 minutes i was so mad cause i spent 560 points on it, and then to make things worse i couldnt travel anywhere (only to the dlc places as you stated), i was a lvl 19 warrior(needed 20 for achievement) which made me even more mad, so now i just started like 3 new different origins and not going to do the dlc's. i hope they fix this problem soon.

btw, this is totally out of topic but like 20 minutes ago i was playin my elf mage in denerim, and i mana clashed 470 damage to the blood mage leader lol, heavy hitter achievement please. haha Image IPB

Auvy,

The patch is being worked on and has been officially addressed elsewhere. Game structure changes as you seem to be requesting are not going to be addressed. I believe they are working on obvious bugs and hopefully the game-breakers for those that hit them.

As for the whole not being a warden thing, it plays like mass effect. You need to be a spectre to go on. If you weren't a warden the first spawn you fought would likely taint you and you would die a horrid death without helping your fellow man much at all. Unless they need to use a rotting corpse as a door stop...

It may seem odd that the dlc isn't being equated to side quests but there is a good reason for that.

1. They wanted a contained story that didn't leave any holes.

2. DLC needed to be fairly self contained so people could add to the experience without making a mess of things.

3. Side quests make quite a bit of mention to the plot in some way and doing a "retcon" would make the events rather silly when playing them.

And while I do realize many would claim it is sloppy, lazy, etc. etc. it comes down to making a clean game that doesn't have to be reworked just so each line of dialogue that has been recorded for the events, need be changed.

The first priority was a solid game (yes there are bugs) second came the extra dlc goodies that everyone screams for. I never bought add-ons because I didn't believe in paying for content that could have fit in the game as I felt it was a way to milk the gamers for an extra 5 to 20 bucks after already paying 60. All the companies have jumped on the milk wagon so now they have to run damage control to design around that decision.

Now as for not hitting that level 20 Doback, how could you not? I capped each character at level 25 by making sure I took my time. Are you running through the game in a half hour? I mean if you could get through an hour's worth of combat and dialogue in just 4 minutes on that dlc it explains much.

As an aside I hit a critter and did over 200 in melee damage (not counting enchantment bonuses) on one play-through... I think it was a glitch :P

well it was my first character so i guessed i rushed a little bit, even though it took me 24 hours to beat, i didnt do a lot of side quests but i know know where to go and what to do.

but what i'm saying about the whole end game thing is that i'm stuck at the warden's keep, honneth(golem place) or campt and i can't do anything there, its frustrating, and they tell me i can go back and keep playing...
