emotions are icky. the right thing to do is bottle them up, so why would anyone want to bring them out? not only that, but to SHARE them...

I'd strongly, -strongly- recommend against suggesting that a dev be 'slapped in the mouth'.

This is not in any way acceptable behaviour on these forums.

How about recommending the devs be massaged sensually? :P

I got a lot of information out of Jack without romancing her.

I thought my femShep was able to help Jack fine with her issues. Mass Effect was all round pretty good when it came to friendships. Joker, Chakwas, Tali, my Shepard was good friends with them all. That's not to mention Garrus, who my Shepard had the ultimate friendmance with.

Dragon Age probably hasn't been as good at that. I liked the whole sister thing with Morrigan, but then Morrigan showed her true colours and abandoned me when I needed her the most. Alistair was pretty cool, as was Varric and Isabela in DA2, but I never really had awesome friendships with them like I did with characters in ME. I guess Aveline served as a good friend to my Hawke, but the only real reason I kept her around was because I needed a tank.

If DA3 could give us some sort of awesome Garrus level friendship that would be great.

I also can't help but wonder if I felt closer to the characters in ME because they stuck around for multiple games, whereas the companions in DA games are only companions for a single game.

The Morrigan friendship was a great one. I was surprised cuz..lol..it started out rough between her and I.

But I do like seeing the friendships grow and change. I liked Carver in DA2 because again it started out with so much rivalry. As time went by, and with the help of some DLC, I got to see that relationship grow and change.

I think those two were my favorite platonic ones. Although I will always adore Varric. I wish I really coulda shared a pint with him.

Lol true, when I told Morrigan "No" for the Dark Ritual and she's all "Okay fine I'm leaving then" (even at max approval) I had my PC call her an "Ungrateful b!tch". Oh man it was glorious.

At least you can respond angrily in DAO to a lot of the dialogue. In ME3 you get railroaded into 'omfg bff" due to the crap autodialogue. Even in DA2 you can call out the characters on their sh!t, like Fenris who my Hawke verbally attacked all the time lmao

Also OP you spelled 'friendships' wrong.

My favorite character quest lines in the Dragon Ages franchise were Aveline and Sigrun. I found it refreshing I could give gifts, be friendly, help them out and see them as friends.

Maybe its just me, but I can't help but find MANY of the other relationships as cheesy gimmiks about saying the right words and getting a sex scene right before the final battle. Its been used so much by Bioware that it is just a bit silly now days.

I preferred just being friends with compansions over saying the wrong words and triggering a damn love interest path, that I couldn't shake without a big fit and drama scene and conflicts.

I'd say that Alistair's bromance in DA: O was as good as the Garrus relationship through the first two ME games. Shooting bottles on top of the Citdadel put Garrus over the top of every videogame friendship, however.

....I was never really criticizing DA to begin with, people.

Then you should've posted your critque in Mass effect forum.

All the companions have friendship paths in dragon age.

This. Seriously , Op, use your brain sometimes. All your topics suck ! Really now ? You are complaining about something that never existed with this franchise.

I'm sure there's a more civil way you could have worded that...
