So ? What kit could make a very good use of the Talon ?

any weapons class would prefer the talon.

Haha.. Headshot with that little shotgun ? Yep, at 5m. Not at 30... And headshot bonus = x2.5 (base). Acolyte bonus against shield/barrier = x5. And you can't always headshot, sometimes you need to shoot fast to stun or something..
I'm not saying the Talon is crap, it's awesome. But acolyte is better IMO.

If you want stats on the two, check out this amazing spreadsheet by Cyonan:

Talon also gets a bonus against Shields/Barriers, though it's not near as large (I believe it's 50 percent). Makes it more attractive versus some other pistols.
yep that's true

The acolyte is a great sidearm. Good at applying ammo effects, some stagger, great at stripping shields, horrible at killing anything with armor. The Talon is good as a primary. That's the main difference.
"some" stagger ? It always staggers dragoons and wrecks phantoms, it's awesome. I'm sure i'll spend at least 60sec to try to kill that phantom with a Talon
And i don't understand. Talon = good as main weapon. Acolyte > Talon. So why isn't the acolyte good (better) as main weapon ? I often play with only acolyte and do awesome matches.

If I want a lightweight shotgun, I use the Wraith because the Acolyte and Scorpion are too useful as sidearms to sacrifice for a Talon.
The Talon only gets used as a sidearm to some of my snipers since sniper rifles are pretty crappy in CQC when you're outnumbered.

Talon is for shooters, Acolyte is for casters. easy as that.
Acolyte is better than talon on my destroyer or GI or anything. What does really have Talon that Acolyte has NOT, making it better in X situation ?

There we go. Acolyte is so I can pull and reave things. Talon is for killing everything that moves. And collector web thingies.

Both are very good guns. Just depends on who the character is and how you play them.

It doesn't stun them on Gold/Plat
The only way that would even be possible is if you used Disruptor Ammo with it, and even then that would be the Disruptor Ammo stunning the Dragoon and not the Acolyte.

Huh ? Reegar ? Harrier ? There is a lot of better weapons to "kill everything that moves"

Yes, Talon AND Reegar AND Harrier are better than Acolyte at killing armored targets. What is your point?
