I went with just Vets and only managed to Max out Uncommon weapons, chars, and some mods. But that was before I moved on to Gold, and now the store gives Uncommon consumables much more... so, yeah... I don't even know where I was going with this.

I'm curious bout this as well. I got max rare weapons and maxed gear (pre-retaliation dlc). but I have some uncommon gear that is not maxed. Seems like 1 out of 5 veteran packs give me an uncommon gear item. Vet packs is the best way bar none to get uncommon gear right?

That easy to answer. Do you use silver items you haven't maxed? Mind you that mods and gears and silver too.

If you want the most bang for the buck, buy veteran packs to max out all uncommon equipment, otherwise you could be using 60k / 99k just to get Phaeston or other mediocre stuff.

im not sure this is why im asking.

theoreticially it should be faster with vets.. but past few day ive been using nothing but PsPs and have got an influx of new playables and weapons... but few uncommons.

vet packs only seem to give one uncommon item at a time.. but.. only need to play silver games to farm good vet pack cash.

hmm

If you're comfortable in playing gold you can buy Spectre Pack and Vet Pack in one succesfull extraction... Buying PSPs early on is not practical, You have lesser chance of getting the essential consumables like medigel and missiles plus it'll take you ages and millions of creds just to max your uncommons.. I started buying SP/PSP when I maxed useful uncommons like Weapon Mods and guns like Mattock and Phalanx...

2,520,000 credits if your calculations are accurate.

I just bought regular Spectre packs back in the day (Premiums weren't regularly available), and maxed out my rare weapons before my uncommons.

Just go PSP/SP/PSP/SP that way you will have lots of gold weapons and pretty good amount of uncommons. Also it gives you some nice level III stuff, which you will want. Idea that maxing out uncommons with Vet packs to maximize probability to get rare/ultra-rare doesn't have any proof to support it. Worse - you will be loosing money on vet packs which just suck, when you can buy SP with guaranteed rare, about 10% chance for second rare or otherwise - uncommon stuff.

quick edit: and for little over 2 millions yesterday I got 6 UR. If you need consumables - just buy a jumbo equipment pack. It's cheap.

In my day we didn't even have PSP's and nearly everyone bought Veterans to level up their uncommons first.

It doesn't work like that, because uncommon gears are not guaranteed on the "uncommon slot" when you buy vet pack...  So it may take longer than that. buying 126 is about 2.5 Million credits that wouln't be enough to max your gears out...

I went back and bought vet packs after maxing all the gold items. I went full on psps and recruits are more bang for buck for consumables at 2 for 5 K. It also gives you plenty of level 1 mods you can just throw on and earn faster.

If your uncommon mods are at good levels then PSP away. You'll get better stuff you can use to perform better.

It's definetly better to buy vet packs for common mods.

Haven't tried buying Spectre or PSPs yet on my alt-account, but so far, I haven't had a single uncommon weapon mod drop yet, so i'd imagine that SPs would be the way to go for uncommon mods.

I actually maxed my rare items out before I got a Locust or Phaeston.

Buy just standard Spectre Packs. They are the best option because they allow you have UR and also they bring more uncommon/rare itens than PSP.

For instance, if you spend 300k you can buy:

5 SP, which you give you:
5 Guaranteed Rares
25 Medigels (or rockets, etc)
15 Uncommon / Rare items

3 SP, which you give you:
6 Guaranteed Rares
15 Medigels (or rockets, etc)
9 Uncommon / Rare items

Which of the above you think more interesting? I prefer the first, except if you have maxed out your consumables.

Maxed out my manifest (non ultra-rares) without buying more than like 10 veteran packs. Go with normal spectre packs, you will get alot more uncommon stuff than you think.
