Composers You'd Like To See Score Inquisition

Games like the Elder Scrolls and Guild Wars 2 really got it right.
Movies/TV series like Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones had amazing soundtracks.
Here are some composers that I think would be great on the Inquisition soundtrack
Jeremy Soule - www.youtube.com/watch
Ramin Djawadi - www.youtube.com/watch
Howard Shore - Mass Effect got Clint Mansell... Would it be possible to get another big name composer?
Jesper Kyd - www.youtube.com/watch
Who would you personally like to see? A new composer or Inon Zur returning?

Well, talking seriously, I would really like a change of style, the soundtrack of the previous two games were good (specially in the first one), but I feel like I would like a big change, a lot of piano maybe? Violins? A little bit of guitar? I don't know, I would like something different for a reason I can't really point.

I have no doubt Inon Zur can make a wonderful soundtrack for DA3 as well, if only they give him enough time. Coincidentally, the same goes for the development team.

To my ear, Origins heavily utilised medieval devices, like modes and ornamentation, but set within an orchestral framework, which naturally brings influence from much later styles.
I think DA2's soundtrack was much more sophisticated. It combined tone colours and techniques from a range of "world music" styles, presumably to reflect Kirkwall's diverse mix of residents. But, the harmony sometimes also strayed into the romantic period, to my ear. The songs all referenced each other, sometimes directly, which might be "recycled content" instead of actual consistency, but I think it worked.
Every time someone opens a thread about music in DA3, I just think French Impressionism, like Debussy and Ravel.
Eg.
I'm not saying it would be done badly or well, or how. Just that, surely, Orlais etc, it will be influenced by this movement?

But
Inon zur is from the start and his music fits DA games like a glove.
His work on DA2 especially
Amell family theme (seriously listen it)
DA2 and DAO theme
Fenris theme OR mage pride
Love theme
Leleiana song
Captivity
Qunari on the rise <-- so badass
Callenhad docks or wounded beach
Ostagar betrayal
DA2 end credits theme, a remake of i am not calling you a liar makes me forget DA2 flaws.
all these are from the top of my head.
Inon Zur is a beast regarding fantasy settings.
Dragon age begun with him and he has surved it in the best way possible from me. He shoud continue

+1. your post is great. never saw tudors but man these themes are so dragon age.sandellniklas wrote...
I think I would like Inon to return, but I think he should try some new things. I would love it if Dragon Age 3 and Orlais had something like this for the music. The music is from the TV-show The Tudors, by Trevos Morris but I think it fits fairly well. It still sounds very much like Dragon Age, but has some new twists and turns.

i don't like assassins's creed but the ost is FANTASTIC. AC2 and ACrevelations get quite the treatment on my evening pipe tobacco sessions.Arppis wrote...

No more Hollywood composers please. Clint Mansell's tracks were good but they don't fit the ME universe at all. Just because they're great composers in Hollywood doesn't mean they can adapt to video games. It's an entirely different beast. They have plenty of amazing video game composers out there willing to do DA3's score.

I'm kind of an oddball, game and movie scores are the only kind of music I even listen to and I listen to a lot of it so I'm not rating Zur's work in DA2 in a vacuum of quality, I think it stands up to its competition easily.
The only flaw in the DA2 score from my point of view was that a lot of combat was ambient, intense filler and not melodically memorable. Even in that aspect, an exception can be made for Qunari on the Rise, which was exceptional. DA2's "Main Theme," "Mages," "Tavern Music," "Mage's Pride," and "Dark Dawn" were all great pieces.
Origins just had better iconic pieces and I'd like to see more of that vein of music return, like the original main theme, Elves at the Mercy of Men and The Realm of Orzammar.
EDIT: Because I forgot to give a shoutout to the Camp Theme from Origins and Hawke's Family Theme from 2 because they were both fantastic as well!

Music is one of the most important features to raise emotions. Inon Zur is also good, but the last time it was in Origins. He failed in DA2.
